GAME 0 - OKLAHOMA (0-0) vs #24 WISCONSIN (0-0) in Milwaukee 7:00pm CST on B1G+

missed the first 10 minutes. But was impressed with what i saw from all the players. Defense and rebounding will need to improve and probably will. Chemistry could be s problem with as many good kids as we have

For sonebreason I didn’t had low expectations for reid and pack. Both looked really good to me

I mean, Reid was a 5 star & McD’s AA, so he may very well be the most overall talented player on the team. I wasn’t 100% sold that he could play the wing (I saw him more as a 4), but he moves pretty well and can hit the 3 ball…so I may be sold. When’s the last time we started a 6’8” wing? Damon Patterson?

He needs to stay aggressive. I noticed that he quit attacking / looking to score after an early flourish. He can get a mismatch just about every time down the floor (smaller guards or slower post players).

I was one that was not sold he could play the wing .. I will now say that he can ..

he started at the 3 then played lots of min at the 4 ..

this is going to be a very good OU team ..

Blair was another interesting guy to see play. He’s got a LONG way to go in terms of game speed, but he didn't look overmatched physically, and he showed a few flashes of good things on both ends. I don't think he'll be in a position to contribute this year.

My guess is Jones' situation will play a big part in determining whether Blair plays much, if at all. If Jones is ever healthy, and if Atak is a legit rotation piece, that would give us 10 guys ahead of Blair. Now, notwithstanding what we saw Friday, I don't think we will be legitimately 10 deep -- guys who look good in October and November have a way of disappearing as the season progresses. But I still think all the guys who played Friday, plus Jones, are ahead of Blair. That just doesn't leave many minutes.

Moser has shown a willingness to redshirt guys, but that would seem especially weird with a guy who presumably wants to be playing minor league baseball after three years in college. So it'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

from what i saw...blair is the least interesting topic of the whole scrimmage.
he's better than a walkon in practice....so if he really wants to play basketball...he'll stick around and maybe contribute in year 2 or 3.
but we don't need him at all this year.

Like I said, I didn't really have a reason for low expectations on Reid and Pack. I guess I just thought since they were leaving their teams maybe they weren't all they were cracked up to be. But, I thought they really looked good, pack in particular. Kid can play ball. The thing about both of them is they don't look particularly guardable. I guess Pack could be just so so on defense, but Reid just looked like a really good all round player to me. I will be shocked if Reid doesn't play in the NBA.

He didn't play much, but at the very least, Blair looks interesting. He looks like a really good player potentially. Looks a lot like a young left handed Nate Erdmann to me.

I was really hoping to see Tae Davis play and didn't get to. But, I thought the team looked better than any other Moser team without him, so if he is one of our better players that is really encouraging.

If Jones is healthy, I will be shocked if he isn't a starter or at least in the rotation. IMO, he absolutely would have started last year but for injuries. If he is healthy and playing well, and he isn't good enough to regularly play, we are going to have a crazy good team.

In any event, we look deeper than I can ever remember at all three levels: Wague, Rogers, Davis and Atack are all 6'9 or better and can play either/or the 4 or 5; Reid, Nwonkwo, Blair and Jones have the height, length and skill set to play on the wing; and pack, brown and Forsythe all look like competent point guards. I can't see Porter using an 11 man rotation, so I don't know what he will do. If I had to guess, he will try and redshirt Blair. And, maybe give Atak and Dayton limited non rotational minutes, but I could see a lot of other rotational and starting lineups. We will get some idea though non conference games. Like Wichita said, kids play will sometimes get bette or worse as you get into conference. So, probably early to try and figure it out.

after watching the scrimmage I see 0.00% chance the Jones is a starter ..

1-5 OU has a very strong lineup

To state the obvious…Atak’s shooting was impressive. But he didn’t play much in the 2nd half…so the question on him is his defense I assume?

Funny story. My teenage son stuck around after a game last year and all the players leave out the side door where they park along with coaches, joe c, barry etc..
but Atak was one of the last few out the doors and my son asked for his autograph on a ball... You wouldve thought he was MJ draining a game winner. SO shocked like no one has ever asked that! and maybe my son was first and only!

Take your kids grandkids whomever. Stick around like a groupie in the parking lot and youll make some kids happy!

Sorry for rambling...

Yeah, he is not good defensively right now. Not strong enough and not aggressive enough / confident enough in rotations.
