It won’t happen, but this is what somewhat serious programs do in football. Realize this isn’t it, and fire the Head guy before he has a chance to coach/luck himself back into it. They won’t, but a program that actually cared about the product would pull the plug.

• Texas, where they're looking for a reason to get rid of Rodney Terry after he salvaged the season of the Chris Beard debacle.
• NC State, where they were about to fire Kevin Keatts before he won 9 in a row in the ACC and NCAA tournaments. He made the Final Four, so they had to extend him. They're having another awful season now.
