GAME 34 - ROUND 1 - OKLAHOMA (20-13) vs UCONN (24-10) 8:25pm CST on TNT

It’s both. Like I’ve said for years, when a team continually misses layups with dozens of different players over four years, it’s obvious that the coach doesn’t do his job working on finishing and demanding toughness. I posted during the Houston game yesterday about Kelvin immediately taking out a guy for going up soft and getting blocked when they were up big. Can anyone remember a single time Loser has done that? If you never hold guys accountable, this is what can happen at the worst time.
You should switch it to houston sooner, how many times did ou choke in the first round with sampson and score in the 40's. You just can't stop yourself from being negative. They played hard as hell against the two time defending champs. Didn't make plays at the end.

It was the substitutions and bad play calling, especially in crunch time. He’s not a good in-game coach and I can’t tell you how many close games we’ve lost in the last 2 minutes, but it’s a lot.
I didn’t have as much complaints on the rotation tonight. Wagee had 4 fouls and fears shoots bad if he does not get some rest.

Is Moser a loser? He is a winning coach all time and at OU. He has a final four. He is a family man. He is making millions of dollars. Despite whatever sorry argument you can make, OU made the tournament as a 9 seed. It sounds like some glass house type of stuff on your end. Moser came in with a tremendous gameplan. Guys just couldn’t make open shots and we left bunnies at the rim. Happens, that’s basketball. If you actually watch Houston, they miss layups. No one on Ou is a repeat offender and you often gripes about Moser subbing guys out during the season for not playing well. Just give the guy his credit, we had a solid year; just didn’t do enough to win.

They didn’t play the two-time defending champs. They played an average team that was imminently beatable.

I'm proud of the guys for the way they closed out the regular season and played in the SEC tourney. Tonight was tough to take. That game was winnable. If we make half of the shots that we missed right at the basket, we win. If we shoot 30% from three, we win. If we do both--not an unreasonable expectation--we win comfortably.

Very disappointing. But the guys fought hard and I'm proud of them for getting there.

Watching on replay, Fears was supposed to come back to the ball, Porter was getting on to him. It was the same play they ran against Kentucky late in the SEC tournament to get Fears that 3.
Yet, the children on this board feel the need to break down anything that doesn't work, even when they are absolutely and totally full of sh ! t.

I believe the announcer mentioned Fears didn't come back and get the ball, forcing Miles to ad-lib, which isn't usually a great option. Fears has lapses at the end of games. He has done that several times. I don't read much into it because he is a freshman.

You have moser derangement syndrome. He outcoached hurley tonight, they missed a lot of shots. Didn't play well at the end. They should have made it last year without a fluke and probably still should have been in. If you believe the story about mccolum then so be it. This team was picked to finish bad in the sec, they made the tourney with a average transfer portal.
We still were bad in the SEC just so we're on the same page

Agreed!

We went 13-14 against teams that weren’t Q-4.

And no one is a repeat offender? JFC Moore misses 10 layups per game.

So you’re saying the team totally screwed up the play and didn’t run it correctly? Good thing it’s November and Moser has plenty of time to work on it! Oh wait…

This doesn’t reflect any better on the head coach.

He also makes a lot of contested layups and is too valuable to take off the floor for long stretches. One of our best defenders and team leader. In response to your 13-14, I think a lot of teams across the country would take that. You can’t take a part of the season and judge off that, you judge a season off the totality

It’s March, that can’t happen and it’s on… wait for it… the head coach who gets paid millions of dollars.

I get the PM frustration, I think we all have some level of it. With that said, I remember the jokes that were said when we signed Wague. I'm not petty enough to go search old threads, but let's not act like anyone was calling for him throughout the season, until the last few weeks....everyone was irritated with the lack of finding a quality big man, most weren't very excited about Wague. I remember early in the season when he did get a few minutes, a lot of people were asking why he was in the game.
You won't find a post from me bashing him during portal. You'll def find a post from me begging for another big man tho.

Idk, either wague had the greatest turnaround as a big man at ou since longar longar, or pm mismanaged wague.
