GAME 8 - OKLAHOMA (5-2) @ Wake Forest (6-2) 6:00pm CST on ACC Network

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Oklahoma picked up its second ACC/SEC Challenge win in two tries, suffocating Wake Forest in the second half and emerging with a convincing 86-68 road win Tuesday night inside LJVM Coliseum. It was the first meeting between the programs.

Forwards Tae Davis and Derrion Reid (career high) led six Sooners in double-figure scoring with 18 each, and center Mohamed Wague logged 11 points and a career-high 14 rebounds to lift OU (6-2) to its fourth straight win. The Demon Deacons, who had won three in a row, fell to 6-3.

Get ready to continually adjust what you think the ceiling of this team is. This team just has so much talent, rebound the damn ball and play defense like they did tonight
and OU is going to win a lot of games.
^^^This is the statement.

Offensive talent is there. Play defense, rebound. That wins you games.

That game sure had a different feel about it, like we were the better team! Like a lot of you I'm not sure how good Wake is but beating an ACC team handily on their own floor is more than encouraging. Really impressed with Wague and his improvement/development. He makes a real difference in our team when he is on the floor and good on him for staying out of foul trouble. I sure hope Brown can find his game and touch, seems like maybe he is pressing a little but you can see the game he has. I like Dayton Forsythe but I'm not sure what his ceiling is, sometimes he seems physically overmatched, but I love his heart and attitude.

Overall, a big thumbs up to Porter and the boys, let's make that a habit!

This really seems like a team that can spread the floor and beat guys one-on-one. And good passing from the forwards off the dribble. The zone offense was better this game, too. Jones helps as a floor spacer when he's in.

Seems like it’s starting to come together. This was gonna take some time with so many new pieces. Tonight was a massive step forward!
Yeah, it's silly to try and put a label on a team so early in the season and say they are going to play the same way all season...after only playing 4-5 games. Teams change sooo much from Nov to February. I think many of us expected to play much better early on, maybe due to the results of those secret scrimmages (me included). We just haven't had a "complete" game so far...maybe until last night (even though the first half was ugly for both teams). So far, we have played terrible in one half, and decent in the other. We outscored Gonzaga in the second half of that game but simply dug ourselves too big of a hole. We played decent in the first half of the Nebraska game and were up by like 16 at one point if I remember correctly but played terrible the 2nd half of that game. Every team comes together differently and at different paces. Hopefully this game was a sign of things to come. It would be very nice to win these next two games..we definitely need to win at least one of them. Both are winnable and losable. Jadon Jones has been a very welcomed addition to this rotation!!

It was interesting that we shot 35 free throws to WF 27 but we fouled 26 time to WF 22. I believe we got fouled on a 3 pointer several times which helps.

Jones has the most interesting shot. He jumps so far forward but doesn't kick his legs out. He's either going to start getting a lot of room or keep getting fouled on threes.
