So, I'm a little embarrassed for claiming that it was a certainty that TMG would return next year, but I still wish him luck in the future. It's true that his time at OU wasn't anything close to a success, but I still feel like the kid is a sooner, for better or worse. I hope he can find a way to play professionally. God speed, TMG.

I certainly wish him no ill, but I have to wonder if he considers himself a Sooner.

This season is not much of a legacy for any player to leave behind (not that it was all, or even primarily, TMG's fault), so I don't know how fondly I'll think of him as the years go by, but I doubt he's lying awake at night worrying about that.

He fits in with all the other short Mickey-D points we have signed.

My thoughts:

"Don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out"

We don't need this type of kid in ANY of our programs. I'd rather get 3 star type players and deal with the success, or lack of, that brings us. Give me kids who are TEAM players and love the name on the FRONT of their jersey. JMO.

i don't wish him ill, either, but he has never been a sooner, never been about team, just about tommy. This decision is a disaster for him. Period, end of story.

This is certainly the way it appears to an outsider such as me.

Good luck TMG. You are gonna really, really, and really need it!

The real villains in this are whichever "adults" for want of a better term, or advisors, are telling this kid he is ready to play somewhere else. Maybe it is all Tommy, but I doubt it. So he hates school? So what. If he has enough academic skill to make the hs grade point and sat necessary to get into OU, with all the academic help athletes get he could at least stay eligible. in two more years or three more years he is most likely a first round pick, making millions. In two or three years on the path he has chosen he will at best be playing in Europe, at worst he won't be playing anywhere. Tragic waste of a great but raw and undisciplined basketball talent.
