Gottlieb: No deal yet

I'm really getting tired of seeing statements like this. Do you think Bob Stoops had a burning passion for the University of Oklahoma before he came here, or did he just "come here for the money"?

Are you saying that the OU program before he got here wasn't one of the premier football programs in the country?!?!

What does that have to do with anything at all? You didn't even address my question.

I'll take a coach that can coach and wants to be here instead of a coach who's only coming here for the money.

If Krueger was offered the job and he hasn't taken it over staying at UNLV yet(a MWC school) then move on to someone who will jump at the offer. This is ridiculous. If not Evans, then someone else that won't waste anytime on taking the job. We are OU! I'm tired of feeling like we are Colorado or Nebraska. Iowa State hired their former player...I say we do the same and see how it turns out.

Who says he doesn't want to be here? If he didn't want to be here, do you think he would be negotiating for the job?

You are tired of feeling like Colorado or Nebraska but you wanted to keep Capel? That makes no sense because Capel made us worse than Colorado and Nebraska.

Who cares what ISU did? They don't have the level of program that we have in Norman and McDermott left ISU really late and they had to scramble. Luckily, Hoiberg is very smart and had a plan, and hired a former head coach in Lutz to help him through the learning period. Did Evans have a former HC to help him? He never stated it in the newspaper if so.

Had McDermott left ISU during the NCAA tourney last year, I'm sure they wouldn't have hired Hoiberg unless he was still the best candidate.

OU football is like KU, UNC, Duke, UCLA when it comes to Basketball. You think b/c Brad Doherty(i think thats how you spell his name) wasn't that good of a coach for UNC...just like how Blake wasn't good for OU...the program went to crap...NO

Worse than Neb and Col? I don't remember them making it to the NCAA tournament. Your delusional.

Okay so basically we should've only pursued former OU players or coaches that have lived in Oklahoma or graduated from OU. Everyone else is disqualified because they would only be coming for the money. This is a stupid discussion that isn't even worth having.

They both made postseason play and one of them beat us in Norman for their first conference road win in who knows how many seasons.

Yes, we were worse than both of them.

Not sure how we beat CU that day, but we did. Had we played them again in KC, they would have blown us out.

I didn't say that. I just say that we shouldn't have to settle on coach's who don't want to come here over programs like UNLV

keep in mind the source, he is the same guy that said he would rather have a deep run in the tourney and then losing seasons for a few years rather than going to the tourney every year but lose in the first round

Now your a pyschic.
They have a better season then us and now they are a better program than us. You jump ship faster than anyone.

If he doesn't want to come here and if he wanted to remain at UNLV, then why is he negotiating for the deal? Are you implying Joe and Boren are holding a gun to his back?

Are you implying Bob Stoops is blackmailing him from their days together at KSU or Florida?

Brad Daugherty and Matt Doherty combined, that would be cool to see.

and I stand by that. Elite 8 sounds way better
