Gottlieb: No deal yet

He is getting a one million dollar raise. My wife would move to Haiti with me for that. I wouldn't need permission to accept the job.

As a woman, I'll chime in on this oh so pressing topic.

I dont expect you to come home and ask me for permission but for your own good you sure as heck better talk to me first before you accept the job.

this is all BOB and myself are saying

First, I don't think we are getting Krueger. There is no way. Why in the world would he leave Vegas for OU -- just don't see it.

Second, there isn't a better coach in the Country. Nothing whatsoever against Evans, Williams or anyone else, but if you think anyone could be a better hire you simply couldn't have any objective criteria to support that. Lon is a walkoff grandslam.

True, we are not getting Krueger.

Yep. My wife would be thrilled with the million dollar raise, but not thrilled I accepted without her blessing.

I've made this mistake before...wouldn't do it again.

Is that you, honey?

I have a standing pass with my wife. When I get offered my next million dollar raise she just wants a text on where to hire the realtor.

Well, mine wasn't for a million dollar raise. It was, however, going to double my salary, but considering what I was making we still aren't talking about big dollars.

I accepted it because the recruiter was putting the big squeeze on me and I caved under pressure. Well, and they were just about to take me to lunch at PF Changs in Plano, and this was way back before PF Changs :) had opened in OKC. That helped me make the decision, too.

Anyway, I was in trouble for accepting without her input but she was thrilled we were moving from OKC to Dallas. Every other time I've been offered jobs in other states, which was 2 other times, I spoke with her first.

Oh I hear what you are saying but Shooter come on... you know that would come back to bite you someday, somehow. ;)

you really stand by elite 8 then the two worst years in the history of the program than Tourney every year? Holy s*** you are a f****** ret***

Thank you! This is the best post of the year!

I'll take a coach that can coach and wants to be here instead of a coach who's only coming here for the money.

If Kruger was offered the job and he hasn't taken it over staying at UNLV yet(a MWC school) then move on to someone who will jump at the offer. This is ridiculous. If not Evans, then someone else that won't waste anytime on taking the job. We are OU! I'm tired of feeling like we are Colorado or Nebraska. Iowa State hired their former player...I say we do the same and see how it turns out.

Didn't you check the Cyclone's record last season before making that observation? A 16-16 record over all (3-13 in conference) is not the type of season I would point to as an example of what a former player can do as a coach.

True, she would use it against me eventually, but then I'd buy her something shiny and all would be well again.:)

I remember quite a few people on here talking about how good they were going to be with all of their transfers in next year.

Like I've said over and over....Willie Warren gets hurt = bad season; TMG, Warren, and Gallon leaving for the D League and OU only returning 3 players = bad season.

But Capel's gone and Kruger's in. I'm glad we have a coach and am ready to see what he will do.

I hope that his Nevada ties will bring in some Findlay prep and Bishop Gorman players.
