Seems like half of the board thinks he is too sought after and the other half thinks he won't cut it. Which side are you on?

by won't cut it do you mean won't live up to the hype of being a real difference maker ?

count me on that side if so, but we need talent on this team and if this kid can score then sign him up. I did agree with the accessment of the Baylor guy, he looks like a mid-major guy all the way to me. Whenever guys hold out on committing the hype builds on em (i.e. Jai Lucas)

I think he'll be just what the team needs. A solid PG coming in that will progress and mature during 4 years in Norman. Superstar...No. Solid piece to the puzzle...Yes.

You have to recruit him, one of the best PGs available. My concern is defense and is he willing to buy in to the team concept? I have no insight to this at all, but it is no question judging from the videos he seeks the limelight. What happens when he gets here and he is probably second or third on the depth chart?

The latter question to me is more pressing, defense should get better, or he won't play, period.

He is no savior to the program, but as the best available PG left, I sure hope we get him! Carl Blair is really growing on me, but none of our other guys really have the handles to get the ball up the court under pressure right now, and it sure would be nice to have a little depth.

I'm saying cut it. Not really a lot of people on this board hyping him. I don't know if there are any. I do think he'll be a four year starter if OU gets him and he will be a very solid pg. A lot of schools are after him and his high school body of work outweighs Jai Lucas's tremendously.

To me it seems like half of the people here are saying "why bother, let's go get a juco guy" and the other half are saying "he's not good enough." As for the Baylor fan's assessment, it wasn't an assessment. He never said anything of substance except he struggles against athletic players, which in itself is not groundbreaking. To add he didn't witness him struggle first hand, he just assumed he struggled.

To me, when it wasn't clear about his interest in OU, people were saying more of the "why bother.". Now that his interest appears to be strong, people are being extra critical. It's odd to me, because his body of work on the prep level is really strong and on par with guys like Keiton Page and Rotnei Clarke. Those two kids turned out to be plenty of good enough to play for most teams in the country.

I would hope the one position Capel could coach up would be point guard. He should be able to take a mid level talent and make him a servicable point guard in the Big 12. If he is above mid level talent then I think he should be able to coach him into a very good point guard.

I have no idea, I have never seen him play, I have seen highlights but even I made enough good plays in HS that they could have made a highlight reel of me, yes I said reel, That was a long long time ago. So my vote is somewhere in the category that I have no idea.

Recruit him as we have some open spots but I would like to see Capel press for as many bigs as possible. We need to get someone that can play back to bucket and let Fitz work his short shots. Some reason our bigs don't pan out or end up leaving so I think we need a whole bench worth of em. I think Blair and Newell will really develop over the rest of this year and summer.

I dont think he's either. He's not too good to go after and he's good enough to play in the Big 12.

But my opinion of him is that he's not going to come in and take the starting PG spot as a freshman. I could see him having a similar career to Jai Lucas or BJ Holmes from Texas A&M.

The only difference is that I worry about his attitude and whether or not a kid with that big of a personality will fit at OU so soon after the TMG/WW/Tiny mess.

Are you guys telling me that Hardrick is that bad of a player?

He has great size and he most certainly isn't worse than Thompson, why not give him a chance and put him on the court?.

I wont believe anyone who says this! Sorry

I couldn't agree more, capelfan. Guerrero appears to be a talented scorer, judging from what he's doing in high school. And the so-called experts say he is the best PG not already signed. So it would be foolish not to take him if he wants to come to OU.

But I don't think there are ANY high school point guards available this year that could come to Norman and take the starting job away from Carl Blair next season. Frankly I can't understand why people don't appreciate the contributions this kid is making to the program NOW. By the time conference play starts next year, I expect Blair will be firmly entrenched as the starting PG at OU. Perhaps Guerrero could compete for the starting spot his sophomore year.

If he's as good as Holmes from aTm, then I'm all for it.

I say you recruit him because we need better PG play and he's the best out there. Unless, you can find a JUCO who is a little better or as good but more mature because we need somebody to step-in next year if possible.

I'm with Boog. I'm starting to think he may ultimately prove me wrong, but I still question whether Blair can take us where we want to go.

I'm probably in the minority, but I like the way the kid plays. I guess we'll see.

I stand with my comment.

No way in hell Hardrick is worse than Thompson, no way!

Dude, you have to be a little more subtle about your trolling, no one on this board is gullible enough to believe anyone who speaks well of Hardrick's game. I'm assuming you are trolling because I don't want to imagine you're that dumb.

By the way, who on this board after watching and reading about Cezar Salad thinks he's too good for us to go after?
