Hate the uniforms but

I couldn't be home to watch the game live and when I cranked it up on my DVR, at first glance, I was afraid that I had recorded the wrong channel. When a uniform is unrecognizable in representing the team wearing it, something's not right.

The world has passed you by

dude, your avatar is groucho marx. many of the people here truly have no clue who that is other than by some obscure reference. recognizeability doesn't seem to be your life's mission.

Lol. Color of jerseys don’t change traditional or school pride.

Just like color tv is better than black and white.

Somehow the "kids' managed to be "kids" for more than a century before the advent of alternate uniforms. Those uniforms aren't about kids being kids; they're about lining the pockets of Nike, period.

Nike lined the pockets of the Sooner athletic programs to the tune of $70 million.

And I remember many posts on at least 1 thread here celebrating the hoopman contract bc of all it would do for the programs and recruiting.

So, it's not all about lining Nike's pockets.

I am old and don’t mind mixing grey or black in on occasion

I would’ve preferred black vs gray. I just don’t like the gray.

I don't like them. I think they're pretty, I just don't like seeing the Oklahoma Sooners wear stuff like that.

I loved the cream-colored alt we wore for a few years. And I really loved the homage made to the '88 and '89 teams by having the jersey say "Oklahoma Sooners" above and below the number. But Kruger didn't like them, and so away they went.

If they wear them at home I'll give them a flick from my chin and then go back to sipping my ice-cold beer.

I don't like them but it's not about me. I will continue to watch, attend and support. I'm okay with an alternate on occasion, like the shiny cream helmets but these didn't have eye grabbing style or contrast, just sort of dark and boring.

I had to miss the game, but from the pictures, those jerseys looked good.

We are lifelong OU fans who love our school's traditions and who will be cheering for the Sooners long after these kids have moved on. What's next, toss out Boomer Sooner and let the "kids" pick a new fight song every week?

While we're at it, let's do away with the 3 point line.

and the hole in the bottom of the basket. I mean, if we are so averse to change then we can just go back to having the peach basket up there and having to climb up and remove it after every successful score.

Is it old-fashioned or "old school" to believe that a team's appearance on the court/field should reflect its school's colors?

If so, just call me an old-fashioned old-schooler.
