We need him to step up early on offense like he did against ISU. He is probably our best offensive player, but far too often he is passive early. I want him being aggressive, and looking to score. I think we're a better team that way. Especially with Clark struggling like he has.

Agree. I wish Clark didn't try to force things so much and the let the game come to him early. It seems if Cam doesn't start well he doesn't play well offensively the rest of the game.

We definitely need Clark to find his game again. It seems that he is pressing too much and passing up good shots to take some that make you scratch your head. Hopefully he gets it going down the stretch.

I don't know why Clark has stopped shooting wide open threes to dribble into contested long twos.

Clark is not the only one passing on wide open threes and short-range jumpers to drive with the ball. I would rather see our players be ready to shoot when the ball arrives and fire away without giving it a second thought. The ancient saying "he who hesitates is lost" is just as true in shooting a basketball as it is in making an important business decision.

Having said that, I'm a lot more concerned about the funk Cam has been in lately as I am in Buddy's late starts. Cam is too important to this team in every way to go back to the same player he was last year. Let's hope this is a temporary setback and not a sign of things to come.

Clark is trying too hard to draw fouls rather than finish at the rim. He'd be better off if he just took it up strong.

Clark has taken 14 shots in the past two games combined. He hasn't been forcing it shooting wise this past week IMO. Over dribbled a few times against ISU but he hasn't been playing bad. 23-48 from the field the past 5 games FWIW (what is up in the game log on his profile on ESPN).

Hield has improved in literally every category in Big 12 play, while Clark has regressed a bit, especially from 3.

We need Clark to find a groove against better defenses.

The thing I like about Hield is that he still has areas where he has a long ways to go. But he's showed he can improve. He'll be a star in a year or two. Needs to get better at handling the ball. Seems to disappear for periods of a game after being hot because he isn't dominating the ball. Defense hasn't been good this year. But he's improved in almost every area from last year to this year.

Clark you can say the same thing about him for the most part but he's been consistent most of this year. In his first 3 years he showed flashes of what he can do but then disappeared for full parts of seasons. He just needs to be more consistent and take shots that they are giving him. His ability to make open shots this year has opened up the lanes for him. Lately he hasn't been confident in his shot.

Hield is OU'S best scorer no doubt. My biggest issue with him is shot selection. Love him as a scorer, but down the stretch I want the ball through Woodard, a guy who can make plays for others or get to the line.

And miss free throws late.

And miss free throws late.

He also makes a lot of throws late in games. I would rather see Jordan there with the game is on the line than anyone else on the team, except perhaps Cam Clark. Cousins has a better average by a point or two. But Woodard has taken 89 more free throws than him this season.

I believe all of Jordan's free throw misses this conference season have been in the final 4 minutes of games. He's missed a lot of free throws late in games. I don't think they've really cost us any games so far though. Could have helped if he(and Cam Clark) made their free throws against ISU.

Best FT shooter (by %) in conference play is none of those guys.

It's Spangler. Based on his FT shooting in Nov, that's a surprise.

Hield is an absolute stud!

Having said that, he has a lot to work on, which is a good thing, too.

IMO, he really needs to work on his dribbling, especially on breakaways. He could work on his decision-making during breakaways, too.

He shot so well in Europe I am not sure this is a total fluke. He probably isn't the best free throw shooter in the conference, but he is far better than his poor November shooting.
