I like the mayor.
I like their team.

and it's cool that this is the 8th team in a row they have played that is ranked or has been ranked. that should make them pretty salty.

I agree with the exception of Niang. There is just something about that dude, can't stand him.

I really like his game. Great low post scorer with a good jump shot. On the other hand he always plays well against OU. I know I've disliked guys for that in the past. :D

I have never seen Niang not play well. I don't watch a ton of ISU but he seems pretty consistent to me. Much better player than Marcus Smart.

They talk A LOT. Kane and Hogue seem to usually be at the center of it. There were quite a few quotes from our guys about this after we played them in Norman.

I agree. They're a tough match-up because they have 5 good players and any one of them can hurt you .... like OU. Niang is such a tough low post player. He's smart and crafty. Niang, Ejim, and Kane are all 3 special talents.

I thought I heard someone say during Monday night's game that DeAndre Kane was 25 or 26 years old. Is that correct?

I wonder why more guys don't do that though? Is there anything that prevents an 18 year old kid from graduating HS, spending two years working out with a basketball guru daily, then going to college from ages 20-24? Obviously not everybody would need to do that, but maybe some kid that is flying below the radar, or that just picked up basketball.

I mean if you are doing it to increase your potential NBA value, you are also hurting it as age is always a drawback in the draft.

If you simply want to try to dominate the NCAA, there is nothing that would stop you. Your 5 year clock starts when you enroll in an NCAA program.

I like Iowa State, especially the Mayor. However, would have rather had OSU win last night. Better to have ISU at 4-5 instead of picking up a road win to go 5-4.

I'm not going to argue at all with picking up another game on finishing ahead of this "final 4 OSU squad" ;)

They have a fun fanbase. I think they'd represent the Big 12 well if they make it to the later rounds. It's also cool to see a coach lead his alma mater like Zoidberg has

Fred Hoiberg is a good coach and a class act. His players are good, but they also mimic his demeanor on the sideline. I will definitely pull for ISU to do well in the NCAA tourney!

I worry about ISU in the NCAA tournament because they often shoot a lot of 3s - and it seems like The Mayor let's hoist up 3s - anyone anytime. I'd love to see them do well, like Cool M, I love the way they play and how verisital they are. Fun teams to watch

A lot of older guys for their class. Preps, transfers and late enrollers will make for a more mature than normal team. Niang as a 21 year-old (or close to it) soph is typical.

Agreed.
