I know, long way to go.. But, if Kruger and Co win the title, do you name the court after him?

You definitely put up a statue and name something after him. Winning a national title at OU is not an easy job.

Starters:
Cousins - 3 star
Hield - 4 star
Spangler - 3 star
Woodard - 3 star
Lattin - 3 star

Bench:
Walker - No Ranking
Buford - 3 star
Mcnease - 3 star
James - 3 star
Odomes - 3 star
Manyang - 4 star

Buford james odomes lattin were all 4 star recruits .. cousins was a 2 star ..

On this same note... when OU loses a game I don't want any clowns coming out saying Kruger got out-coached, can't coach, or any of that other BS that comes out after a loss....

His ability to coach is NOT in question... Ever. You can't even reasonably bring it up.

It's kind of like Bob Knight... he didn't always have great teams or talent, even at Tech, but you can't question his coaching ability. They lost a lot at Tech, but the guy is a world-class coach.

Funny, when I read the phrase "Bob Knight is a world-class ______", "Coach" isn't the word I would first come up with.

But sure, he could flat out coach.

No. We will lose a game and folks will melt down. We aren't going undefeated

When was the court name Wayman Tisdale? Not that I mind I just never knew that.

Lloyd Noble Center is the house that Alvan Adams built and Waymon filled. Kind of ironic that Alvan never played in it.

OU will lose, there will be no undefeated teams. If OU were to win the NC..I think a pay raise would be in order for LK..I dunno what budget OU has for men basketball

and he was often out coached late in his career ..

Who? Bob Knight?

He won 21 games a year at Texas Tech...

They finished 11th in the Big 12 the year before, and tied for 3rd in his first year.

  • 23-9
  • 22-13
  • 23-11
  • 22-11
  • 15-17
  • 21-13

Practically a miracle to do that in Lubbock. Since Bob Knight left Lubbock:

  • 16-15
  • 14-19
  • 19-16
  • 13-19
  • 8-23
  • 11-20
  • 14-18

I repeat.... you can't question how great of a basketball coach Bob Knight is, just like you can't question how great of a basketball coach Lon Kruger is. They are very different as people, for sure, but Kruger can't be questioned as a coach.

I agree, but we both know if you mention Knight, there will be vocal detractors.

And vocal defenders who have rushed to his defense, no matter what he's done. Even when he was throwing a two-week hissy fit and accusing Kelvin Sampson of cheating after "Clock-Gate," a certain faction of our fans defended him at every turn.

I'm convinced Knight could commit treason, larceny and murder, and there would be those who would hasten to insist, "But he was a great coach!"

Some people just seem to love a blowhard, self-aggrandizing, unapologetic bully (to the admins: the preceding is not intended as a political post).

Some will melt down after a loss, some will be happy to see us lose (thinking it takes pressure off), some believe that doubt in the team keeps them as an underdog and helps them by osmosis somehow, some are always positive no matter what happens, and some will complain about the slightest implied criticism of the team. We're all a little different. I definitely agree with you about not going undefeated. :ez-laugh:

Most Knight defenders limit the discussion to basketball, most detractors include their opinions of the actual man, and there lies the main difference. Some people just can't seem to separate the two.
