Is it possible that Joe C. is waiting to see if Capel can land some impact players and if not then will can him. I. E. doesn't get Caesar, Jurick etc.
I'm not sure John Wooden could pull off a winning season with the state of the current OU roster.

I might say yes, but Joe doesn't know how long those guys might hold out. And besides, without a vote of confidence from Joe, they probably wouldn't commit to OU anyways.

I think it's unlikely we get either at this point, but I'm almost certain we won't land them both. And only getting one of them, either of them, probably does't help us much. I'm not sure Cezar would start next year, and Jurick might not either due to Osby and Fitz being better at the 4/5 spots, then the 3/4 spots.

Let's say he does"nt get either one & we have players leave such as Clark,Fitz.or Pledger, then what??Go Sooners!!

And where are those kids going to go? Not saying it can not happen, but I am saying it is very unlikely. One thing about those kids staying at OU is they do not need to compete for PT!

Now on to Capel. To steal a line from Gunny Tom Highway "this does not mean we are going to be taking warm showers together", but I for one think Capel as become a solid coach. I will go on to say that this is his best year of coaching since arriving at Norman. Give him some space and a vote of confidence and let him get on with his Job and building The Program. Good Grief!

WE can not afford to wait that long to make a decision. If Joe C stays silent they will go else where. At that point its the middle of april and we are looking for a coach and then trying to fill out a roster in May. That is not a good look

NO! Any administration that would make decision based on ANY recruiting class, much less the one we may or may not land this year... should be shot.

I agree, if Capel is fired it'll be real soon. Next week or two at most. I don't see Joe C giving the next coach basically nothing in recruiting.

Things just don't add up. According to the press the players really like Capel but over his tenure at OU a lot of players have suddenly left.

I think Clark, Pledger and Fitz could find a home.

OU has struggled to land top high school talent since Coach O was fired.

I don't get this statement. That was a one month (maybe slightly longer) late recruiting period where OU was in on some of the best but did not land them and then an early period when OU had very few scholarships to give. I don't really tink we can say OU has done a good or bad job at this point.

I am sure Capels future largely depends on this recuiting class BUT I don't think Joe fires him if he doesn't think OUr April class is any good.Whatit borls down to is thast if Jeff can't bring in a couple of players who can impact this season then we won't have a good enough season to keep his job.

Frank Martin ring a bell? He has turned out "okay" I guess.
