If you were the AD at a Big-10, SEC, ACC, Big-East, or PAC-12 school, would you be trying to hire Jeff Capel as the head coach of your basketball team?

If you were Joe C. and looking for a new coach, would you consider someone that had Capel's record over the past five years.

If I were an AD at a large metropolitan school that is struggling right now (like St. John's or DePaul last year), I would give him a shot.

No and no. Like it or not, coaching contracts are pretty much a year to year deal. Think of it this way, if Capel's contract was up this year, would we try to re-sign him?

Yup.

I'm willing to bet Capel will find a better job if he gets fired.

Are you telling me the NCAA is going to allow Blake Griffin more eligibility to go play for Jeff Capel?

Or are you telling me capel is going to parlay his relationship with Harrison barnes to become an asst coach at UNC?

A better job?

Surely you jest.

Depends on the meaning. If he means that he has screwed up OU SOOO bad that just about any job would be better, then I agree as most D-1 schools have actual D-1 talent. He has made OU a 4th tier job in college basketball. Kelvin had it as a borderline 2nd tier before he left.
