i expected neal to be a tall skinny post who would play like he wants to be a guard .... and this is not at all the player that i saw.

We knew that tyler can shoot the ball (.421 from 3 in high school) and we knew he is 6'7 and that was about it. He is very well put together for a true freshman and he played pretty good and tough D inside. i think that capel will continue to play him in spots this year and i think that he could grow into a player that in a couple of years could be a legit threat on O for us.

It will be interesting to see if he gets any taller and if he continues to fill out he might turn into a 6'8+ 235-240 pound stretch 4 ..

just something to think about as we go along this year

tyler had a very good game tonight .. and IMHO has a very very bright future as a stretch 4 that will average double digit point in his JR and SR at OU

Is it true he is still grown and could get to 6-9 or 6-10 before he's done? Or was I just hearing things?

He'll be another Cade.

One can only hope. As much as some people don't like him he is the heart and soul of this team, and can go off for 20+ on any given night.

I think he's a little smoother than Cade. He doesn't have Cade's aggression, even as a freshman, but Neal is taller and a better pure shooter. They both have a great feel for the game.

His older brother is 6'8 or 6'9 and plus Tyler is still really young for his age. I believe he's only 17 as he skipped a grade when younger.

Most people like Cade. Anybody that watches basketball know that teams need guys like Cade and Tyler.

Yup, hard working kid who improves every year, will be a major part of the offense his Jr. and Sr. years and will still have a bunch of people saying that he is not a Big 12 player, isn't athletic, etc. etc....etcetera....

Thats where i was going with my post about people not liking cade, Shooter is just better with the words than me

lets just hope he doesn't cry on the court with 5 seconds left in an elite eight game

Oh, I don't know. If he's crying on the court in an Elite Eight game, that means we had a pretty good season. :D

Seriously, we all had to like how this guy played tonight. Even though I won't get my hopes up after one game, I'm with Coach Tubbs --> "I like him."

yea but not crying means we went to the final four :woot

There's something about this kid. His athleticism is deceptive. He looks like he can't play one lick of ball to save his life. But everytime we see him he's dunking on someone or moving faster than he looks like he should. Tonight he showed range on his shot. I like this kid too. BOOMER SOONER BABY!!!:clap

His lower frame leads me to believe that he has some more growing to do. Looks to have some potential.
