OU is undefeated on the first day of the Big 12 tournament at 3-0.

OSU is 7-0 on the first day of the Big 12 tournament.

The fact this is the 13th Big 12 tournament and 10 times OU has not played on the first day tells you how strong OU has been in the conference. As I've said before, 2nd best program in the conference by far.

Absolutely. Consistent top 4 team.

More stats on the Big 12 tournament:
overall first round Quarters semis final
baylor 8-12 5-7 2-3 1-1 0-1
CU 7-13 7-4 0-9 0-0 0-0
ISU 7-12 3-7 2-4 1-1 1-0
KU 25-7 1-0 11-2 7-4 6-1
KSU 7-13 5-5 2-6 0-2 0-0
MU 15-12 8-3 3-7 3-0 1-2
NU 5-13 3-9 2-2 0-2 0-0
OU 19-10 3-0 8-5 5-3 3-2
osu 18-11 7-0 6-7 3-3 2-1
Texas 17-13 2-1 10-2 5-5 0-5
aTm 3-13 1-10 2-1 0-2 0-0
Tech 11-13 6-5 4-4 1-3 0-1

Texas is 10-2 in the quarters but 0-5 in the finals. Wow.
aTm is 1-10 on the first day.
OU has the 2nd most wins in the Big 12 tournament.

So this year Baylor becomes the last big 12 team to get a first round bye.

Interesting that OU and OSU are 2nd and 3rd in all-time winning percentage in the Big 12 tournament:

Kansas.............25-7 (.780)
Oklahoma..........19-10 (.660)
Oklahoma State...18-11 (.620)

Also... sort of interesting... if OSU wins tonight, they will temporarily tie OU in second place at 19-11 (.630).

Then, OSU will either fall back to 3rd if they lose the quarter-final game to KSU (19-12, .610), or create another tie for second if they make to the semis (20-12, .630).

If OSU makes it to the finals, they will take over 2nd place.

Also - Texas would need to win 4 games in a row to take the tournament in order to get into the 2nd/3rd discussion. Running the table would move them to 21-13 (.630).

I also noticed this when I was putting the stats together.
