Just suffered the worst loss imaginable. As in, the worst loss by BPI since that metric was started. Those predicting that we will be lucky to win any games in conference play should take a look at how some of the other teams in the league have been playing. I can only imagine what the ISU message board looks like right now lol.

OUCH! Losing to a 1-9 (now 2-9) Florida A&M team on their own floor may be more than ISU fans can take.

Again, very comforting that the league is so bad, we might be able to win a couple games.

I'm guessing they will be hiring Hoiberg back for next year... Can't imagine he'd stay at Nebraska if ISU opened back up

Crazy after beating ranked Seton Hall earlier this month. They still have probably the most talented guard in the Big12, but this is a brutal loss.

Why on Earth would ISU open up? Two months (or even an entire season) of bad basketball doesn't lead any sane program to fire a coach at the college level.

After beating ISU, Florida A&M is 300 in the Kenpom rankings -- one can only guess how low they were coming into that game.

It was obviously a bad loss, but it also points to the fact there is increased parity and many -- perhaps even most -- teams have enough talent to pull off an upset if things go their way on a given night. FA&M had four guys in double figures, so it wasn't even one hot player going off. There's no statistic that clearly shows why FA&M won -- they outshot the Cyclones, but not by much -- 51 to 46 percent. ISU shot 40% from deep -- 8-20 -- but FA&M hit only four three-pointers. ISU outrebounded them by 5, but had 4 more turnovers. Really, the stats are relatively even, which suggests it was just a hard-fought win for FA&M.

In short, it makes it clear that players and coaches shouldn't view any team as a "cupcake" (even if some fans insist on doing so). It's a good way to get beat.

ISU got upset by a cupcake and we are still not a good team. Reality bites

Despite what we perceive as "down" year for the Big 12, Kenpom still has the Big 12 as the #2 league in the country.....just behind the Big 10. I think the difference this year is that the teams at the bottom of the Big 12 (KSU and TCU) don't appear to quite as competitive as the bottom teams were last year. Also Iowa State and Texas (middle rung Big 12 teams) appear to have slightly declined as well.

And for the record, I do think the Big 12 might is slightly down as a whole, but I also believe it is a down year for college basketball as a whole. I don't see a "superteam" or two out there this year.

Bad loss even with ISU down. But come conference play they will still be a tough opponent for us just like everyone else and they will have a much better home court advantage.

It is going to be interesting to see the order of finish, especially for teams 5-10 and which ones make the tourney.

Looking forward to it.

ISU lost by 2 and TCU shot 52 percent and 14-27 from 3. Normally if someone shoots that good you get blown out
