Is it time to consider that this team is lot better this year than previously anticipated? Personally, I was excepting a 7-10 seed in NCAA tournament at the beginning of year.

I am thinking about setting my expectations a little higher, but I don't want to jump the gun.

Maybe a 3-4 seed? Am I crazy? Is this team showing us who they truly are? Or are we just on a hot streak that will come to an end?

I don't know what to think about the Big 12. Every team is good, but even Kansas isn't great this year. I believe we could finish anywhere in the top 6 teams, and that should be good enough for at least a 5 seed.

Got all the pieces. Still need to gel and figure out roles.

Wichita st would have a great chance to win the big 12

If Wichita St was in the Big 12, they should be considered the favorite.

Only if KU is no longer in the league. Speaking of which, they seem fairly confident that both players they are waiting on will be eligible sooner than later.

I think it's time to raise their expectations some......I don't think anyone thought the the two freshmen would be this good..... this year. The way they're playing now.....both could end up in the league. Add those two players to any team in the Big 12 and your team will be better.

They may fizzle down the stretch.....but I tend to think they will finish in the top 3 or 4.

Wichita St would be KU by 20 9 out of 10 times right now. Unless KU gets guys back I would be willing to bet they may not finish in the top 3 in the big 12 this season!

If you are serious about making that bet, I'd love to take you up on it. And even right now, WSU wouldn't beat them 9 of 10, let alone by 20. Heck, the only teams they've beaten by 20 are Savannah State and UMKC. I hate KU, but it's silly how many times each season people suggest they are down, won't win the league, etc. They go through a three or five game funk every year, but always bounce back. I'd love for that not to happen this season, but won't believe till I see it.

Ummm no. Wichita is well coached team and they are successful within their system. However, Wichita's athleticism (or lack thereof) is what holds them back..... and would hold them back if they were in the Big 12.

this. I have all the respect in the world for WSU's team and program - but I dont know if they have the horses. That would be my question at least. No offense to them intended.

Um, you Shocker boosters know we beat WSU, right? In Wichita? In front of a packed house of their boisterous fans?

Good teams don't lose? Even without their best player? So Wofford is better than North Carolina?

Wichita St is better than Kansas right now. Maybe when KU (or if) they get those guys playing they'll be as good or even better, but they aren't right now. That is not to say that the Shockers would beat KU 9 out of 10 by 20 pts. That's absurd.

That's how good OU's win was.

Of course I know good teams lose -- WSU's done it twice so far.

I just don't understand the rush by our fans to proclaim them better than anyone in our conference--including our own team, which beat them in something close to a true road game.

And I think it's safe to say that UNC wasn't nearly as energized to play Wofford as WSU was to face the much-hyped Trae Young and our Sooners, so that comparison doesn't really work for me.

WSU is a very good team, and it was a great win, especially on the road. And I think they would definitely hold their own in the Big 12. But to suggest they'd be the favorite is a bit much IMHO. There is a huge difference between dominating a bad league like they have the past few years, and being able to win the best league in the country. But again, that doesn't diminish the win, because our very young team just beat an incredibly experienced team in a really tough environment. Hopefully we do the same thing in Lawrence and a few other places this season!

KU is only playing with 7 guys!!! You won't win the big 12 with 7 guys! I honestly do think WSU would beat KU 8-9 times out of 10 right now especially getting Mcduffie back.. maybe not by 20 every time ok ok..

Actually they are playing with 8 at this point as Cuncliffe (transfer from Az st) was eligible the same time Doolittle was. He only played 9 mins last night but he'll probably see more and more time as the season goes on.

Still real early. Trae Young is playing at an absurdly good level early on. But it's still early. I'm still not sure about our level of play against Big 12 quality teams week in and week out.
