If buddy develops more of a stop and shoot from inside the arc, I think he will advance to that next level. It seems all he does is shoot threes and drive in for off the backboard buckets (and it works most of the time). He just needs to develop a sweet pullout.
Or the fact Collison was a complete beast in college.
was he much better as a soph than Spangler? He scored it better, but his rebounding was only 6.7/game.
Who started inside along side Collison that year?
Drew Gooden was also available in the post.Who started inside along side Collison that year?
Let us not forget the 2002 Big 12 Tournament champions. OUr Sooners defeated Kansas 64-55, and that Jayhawk team featured three guys who would go on to each play a decade in the NBA (Collison, Gooden and Hinrich).
Still one of the most dominating defensive performances I've ever seen. Jabahri Brown was awesome in that game.

We were the better team that year....
Well since collison had better teammates (which he obviously did) then shouldn't teams key in on Spangler more? Yet he still grabs every rebound and scores extremely efficient. Collison had a great junior year and a monster senior year, I'm not saying Spangler is as good a scorer as collison, but if he makes it to the NBA I see him being in the same role as a nick collison type. Also I could easily see Spangler making 2nd or 1st team all conference team the next 3 years which wouldn't make it laughable to compare him and collison's college careers.

Spangler is a great rebounder but he also benefits from not having another player on the roster who can grab caroms at a high rate. Furthermore, rebounding is generally a one on one matchup, you don't "double team" a rebounder.
Collison shared a front court with Chenowith and Gooden, plenty of competition for rebounds.
