As well as he is playing, will this be Trae's only year at OU? The PK80 announcers were saying he could be a lottery pick. There seems to be a lot of comparisons to a young Seth Curry. It would be tough to come back another year if he projects as a 1st round pick.

Should the coaches be looking at 2018 PG's? We can't just have Sheperd. Harmon won't be here until 2019-2020. Trae might not decide for a few months but the Sooners can't wait to start recruiting a backup plan at PG.

I think he stays another year just be physically stronger. He's mentioned Blake staying that 2nd year so he could be ready to play and not just see spare minutes.

I would be shocked if he returns (happily shocked). I am so excited just to watch him play every game this year.

Going back to your Curry reference. Was in the LA area at a bar for the Thanksgiving game against Arkansas. Couple 20 year olds walked in and saw the Sooners playing with about 4 minutes remaining. One guy said to the other in a very enthusiastic voice "Is this the Sooners. They have this one player who plays just like Steph Curry".

While I agree he should/will stay another year, I wonder if Blake would have stayed had he not gotten hurt.

If they are comparing him to Seth Curry he comes back if Steph Curry he is gone

We can hope and pray or pray and hope

Arkansas had a couple of players with very good quickness and they also played good D. They limited his effectiveness and scoring to a degree.

Going forward teams will try to keep the ball out of his hands.

A box and one will be tried by many teams.

If he was my kid and projects as a 1st round pick, I tell him to go. He's not going to get any bigger. Look at the outstanding PG's from the Big 12 last year that were 2nd rounders because of their lack of size: Frank Mason, Juwan Evans, and Monte Morris. The NBA likes big guards like Markelle Fultz.

If he wants to leave, he'll be a first round pick. But there have been plenty of guys who would have been first round picks come back to school. Probably just depends on how much he's enjoying himself here. He has to know the team is going to be ridiculously good next year, so he could come back to try to win a ring and a Naismith award.

Far too early to tell. He had a great tournament but Big 12 play could demonstrate the degree to which he needs to get stronger. If he keeps dominating the way he has been, he'll be gone.

If the money is there for him, I would say take while you can.

kind of like Porter...(sort of)...
if my kid was an "almost" guarantee top 10 pick, I wouldn't even let them play..just hire a trainer for a year and work on your game. Not worth an injury.

this is why the rule blows...either no rule or 3 year rule...(I support no rule)

This could happen. Or maybe hey we got a run at a Natty next year, lets do it.

but as of now. He gone...

I find it sad that all anyone cares about is the money. Life isn't just all about money.

He's definitely a 1st rounder, but my argument would be to come back next season and make yourself a lottery pick in 2019. Yet I would totally understand if he made the choice to leave.....couldn't blame him one bit for that.

Having said that, if he keeps putting up the type of performances he put up yesterday, then he just might be a lottery pick in 2018. However, as someone mentioned above, I do think the coaches in the Big 12 will make it a priority to try and keep the ball out of his hands as much as possible. And since we play a double round-robin schedule, I would expect him to have a down game on occasion.

I don’t think it’s all about money with Trae and I doubt if you do either. He impresses me as a levelheaded, goal-oriented young man who knew what he wanted to do a long time ago.

I also think he values family and the time he’s spending with them too much right now to make a hasty decision to put all of that aside for a chance at the bright lights in a dog eat dog business. He seems to be having the time of his life. Why not enjoy it as long as he can?

That said, I have no idea what TY will do after the season is over? A lot can happen between now and then, so trying to make that prediction well in advance of a decision is speculation at best. I get why some feel he should take the money and run. I just doubt if Trae sees it that way. It’s not like he’s a kid from a big city ghetto who can’t wait to get out of an environment most of us could never understand.

If he goes, I couldn’t blame him one bit! I’ll just be grateful for the season he gave us and look forward to watching him at the next level.
