It's Simple!!!

There are so many bad names out there he is starting to look like a great choice to me in comparison.

East coast guy that hasn't been to the tournament at Wichita State. Granted, he did at Winthrop. No ties to the area. He makes more since to me at NC State.

Nope. Why would we want a guy that who is 80-55 at Wichita State in five years. His teams are 4 games over .500 in conference play over the 5 years. Granted, he has been pretty successful the last two years.

Have you SEEN the other names being mentioned???

Yep. Lon Krueger has been to Sweet 16's with 3 different programs. Weber has successful everywhere he has been. Kevin Stallings is taking Vandy to the tourney about every year. Hell, Ben Jacobson has beaten Kansas in the tournament. Tad Boyle has taken No. Colorado from a new program to a successful one, and took Colorado out of the basement of the Big 12.

Some of you are VERY short sighted.

1. "He's from the East Coast." Heck he's been coaching in freaking Wichita State! It's not like we are hiring him from Coastal Carolina.

2. "He's not been to the tournament." Unlike the Big 12 if you finish in the top five you basically get in; in those small conferences if you don't win the whole thing at the end you probably aren't gettin in no matter how good you did all season.

3. "His teams have only been good the last two years." That's called building your program, and installing your system. It takes time to get things done the way you want.

Seriously, every candidate out there has something you can pick on.

Thank you.

It's not like Marshall took over a team that was in the basement of the MVC for eternity. They were a year removed from a Sweet 16 run under Mark Turgeon.

I'm so tired of seeing people being thrown into this coaching conversation just because they can beat Kansas, in that case let's just thrown Quin Snyder and Jim Wooldridge into the coaching carousel too

Yeah a bunch of slow "pass the ball" guys. He had to get his players..."athletes". Look at them now. Two teams that are in the final four they almost beat. They lost to UCONN by four and VCU by one. How would OU have done against those teams....oh wait...
