Jacob Hammond decommits

Usually I say this about firing and hiring people but may apply here. Someone leaving doesn't always mean you get someone better. Until OU signs someone better I will consider it a loss. When someone better signs I will give it up to Kruger and Staff.

The case of a player decommitting and then re-committing is incredibly rare. I've followed about 9 years of Sooner hoops and football recruiting now, and the only time I can remember it happening is Ryan Broyles, who went OU-OSU-OU in the span of about 3 days. And he was a Norman kid, so the likelihood of him ending up in Norman was enormous from the get go.

I actually think it went OSU-OU-OSU and then on signing day he signed with OU.

Hearing it was a mutal. OU is after a Big in Colorado. Close to a 7ft. More upside. Not bullet proof info, but very solid...!

Are you certain it's Colorado? I can't find anyone on any site over 6'9" from CO in the 2014 class.

*Myles Turner a 7 ft. C from Euless, TX in now listing OU within the last week on Rivals & Scout.

There are no news links about Hammond having success at Sunruse. If he's leaving it's most likely because there was no success. If he couldn't make a mark at Sunrise he was not going to make a mark at OU.

Kruger is not allowed to discuss recruits (which you can be certain he won't slip up again on) so Hammond's "decommit" is most likely Kruger saying "Hey Jacob, ole buddy, I think you should open up your recruitment and look around, we might be heading another direction, take it easy bro".

We know its "mutual"...

I don't mind chasing studs, but we're going to have a very tough time beating out KU, Ohio State, Baylor and some of the other local teams (UT). Even OSU, with the way they've recruited.

Chasing studs is fine, as long as our coaches don't stay the course too long and lose out on quality players who could have helped the team. We have been down that road before, and it wasn't much fun.

I knew you liked chasing studs.
