Proven winner. Knows Big Twelve. What would be positives and negatives being on OU staff. Do not bring up NCAA problems and where he has coached. Both of these are no longer problems. Just an idea. Seems like a great guy, and a calmness on the bench. Go ahead abd discuss. Jeff might need this on his bench. Older coach to talk and discuss things with.

I love this. What are the positives and negatives? But don't bring up the negatives.

Wouldnt mind a veteran coach over there with him...i'm not all that familiar with his current staff though, do you guys think they could be part of the problem? Enough to rethink his staff?

Capel needs help, whoever can do this Im all in favor for.

I agree.

Dickey was a winner at Tech and Tech had never won anything before he arrived in Lubbock. The role the OP suggests he would have in Norman is close to the same role he had at OSU before Sean was fired.

I think the current staff is part of the problem. They all look clueless to me, especially Taliaferro...he always looks like he's in outer space.

You can't get rid of Uni-brow. He's our best recruiter.

Dicky isn't a great recruiter and that is what we need most of all.

Recruiting meaning what ? Bringing in the highest ranked player we possibly can ? We ve been doing that and look where its gotten us. We need recruiting help in someone assisting Capel to find the right kids, not the most talented or the highest ranked ones.

He's currently coaching the Stillwater 8th grade boys (undefeated). Where his son is on the team, he'll probably move up the levels with him.

Don't even know if he wants back into NCAA coaching. But, who knows. He's a good coach.

He's living off settlement money from being fired. when that runs out he'll work.

Didn't he already try the veteran coach thing with Rod Barnes?

He couldn't keep Sean off pills or Eddie off the bottle.

He's a very solid recruiter. Who do you think recruited James Anderson? Who do you think recruited Jasson Sasser and Darvin Ham?

Could any coach in the nation? Don't understand how that could even be considered a fault of Dickey's.

No you do not want him. He would not bring anything of value to the Sooner program. A bad idea all around.

In all seriousness Dickey will be a valuable asset anywhere he ends up.

The point is how could he be such a stabilizing force to OU, when he couldn't be a stabilizing force to OSU. Also, both of you guys know he had rumors of infedelity as well.
