@ESPNAndyKatz: Two other names to keep in the mix at ASU are New Mexico's Craig Neal and Duke assistant coach Jeff Capel.
@ESPNAndyKatz: Let me strengthen that last tweet: one source has said Duke's Jeff Capel is a strong candidate to get the ASU job. Will be interesting.

lol

I don't think he'd succeed there. I'm not saying he can't succeed anywhere, but I don't think he would at ASU.

Capel needs to stay on the East Coast. My guess is Pastner from Memphis will get the job if he wants it.

"Arrogant punk"? Really?

Actually, I watered down my language. I was going to call him worse.

Talk to people who are involved in the program. He has almost zero fans who worked with him and around him.

I would imagine he learned a lot during his time at OU, and then learned even more these past few years with Coach K.

He will do better his next time around.

Jeff Capel showed that he is capable of coaching a very good team at OU, his inexperience and gambles didn't pay off in the end though. If he's learned some lessons, I think he might do very well.

I hope he does well wherever he goes as long as he doesn't come close to Norman, unless it's to watch his team get pasted.

I agree with the poster who said he would be better served to stay on the East Coast. However, if he can't recruit to OU he sure as heck won't recruit to ASU as they have nothing except James Harden. Bill Frieder and the ex NCSU coach couldn't do anything in Tempe.

I'll be honest. The more I hear about his time here and the way he treated people, the less I care if he's ever successful.

I felt that way a few years back, but I've let it go. I'm sure his experience in Norman and the fact nobody wanted to hire him for a few years, even as an asst, has humbled him some.

If he gets the job, he should send a portion of his salary to Blake though, and the rest to Kelvin. He would have failed miserably if not for those 2...well, he did fail miserably but after BG left and the rest of KS players graduated.

I've lost my hatred. I haven't lost my lack of give a you-know-what.

I would like to see ASU hire Archie Miller. Would be a blast to see the Miller brothers battle it out. Archie may be above the ASU gig though. Likely bigger things awaiting him.

Lon retires and Archie takes over

Hey it would be one sure fire way to get students to come to games
