We're so thin inside that our guard play needs to be great and we need to be deep at guard. Before his injury I thought Jelon was going to be a big part of what we do. I still think that. He is probably our second best passer after Woodard and has always been a good rebounding guard. If he picks his spots to score he'll make a big impact. I think he could be averaging 6-7 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. Those aren't numbers that would blow you away, but that would have won us a game against LaTech and given us a shot at the end against MSU and KU.
Edit: I also used to think he was one of our best defensive guards. We may miss him more on that end. Playing injured he has been fouling a ton on defense, but maybe once he is healthy and up to game speed that will end.
