Jerry Meyer just changed his crystal ball prediction for Dante Buford. Changed from South Carolina to Oklahoma!! :krugs

I've heard nothing but positive things lately about Dante and OU, he should decide in the next couple days and hopefully be a Sooner.

Interesting.
That certainly could be good news, especially since he just got back from South Carolina.

Also noticed that his page on 24/7 lists OU and Miami as "Warmer" with South Carolina just as "Warm."

I'm pretty excited about the possibility of getting Buford. We'll have a lot of front court minutes open next season for a newcomers to snatch if he's ready. Seems like a good situation for both OU and Buford.

Terrific news!!! I sure hope Meyer is right. Buford would be a great addition to our 2014 class!

Adding those three posts to Bennett and Spangler and our guard lineup means we can take the best possible player in the Spring regardless of position, potentially a transfer.

Would definitely be nice to get a SF like Josh Cunningham to round out the class.

I think if we get Buford. Cunningham won't. I think someone else posted that as well. It'd be a top 20 class if we get both!

True. I wouldn't mind taking a transfer PG (who would be a two-year back-up to Woodard allowing Hornbeak to roll over to SG when Clark leaves), or a transfer who can shoot it at a high percentage from outside.

Buford wants to play the 3 in college so I guess we found Clark's replacement :krugs

That's too bad if Cunningham really feels that way, but wants to come here. I mean, assuming Buford is coming, he can't play 40 minutes.. And I don't see any other true 3 types on the roster right now.

would love a pure shooter to add to this team, but as others said, best available as Lon has so many connections, could steal a great transfer

There are a lot of guys that "want" to play the 3, but in reality, are small 4's. And the way LK uses them (so far), there isn't much difference. You have to be really skilled to be a 6'6, 6'7 type guy, and to play exclusively at the 3 in today's college game.

If we get Buford, I expect that means we'll take 1 post and 2 guards in the next class?

You are right on this one. If we get Buford, he will be a Cam Clark #4. He isn't being told anything else or recruited as anything else. If we get him, it will be because he thinks that he can come in and start in Cam's spot next season.

Lattin, Mcnease, and possible Buford... I'd say 3 guards. But 2 SG for sure and maybe a 2/3 combo SF/ Slasher...

I'd do anything for a dead eye sniper. Just a flat out shooter.

Coach Talk, you're probably right...but I'm a little worried about having a junior in Spangler and then three freshman posts next year (with Hamilton on the end of the bench).

Not sure we need two SG's. I agree about getting a guy that can just flat out shoot it, and/or score it though.

Depending on what the staff thinks of Hornbeak and Cousins, one of the guards we go after might be a backup PG. Would love to find another good PG to come in, and learn behind Woodard. Even if it's an under the radar type.

We'd have Bennett too, or am I misunderstanding your post?

Sorry WT, I did get mixed up a bit. You're right. If we get Buford, next year we'll have:

Lattin
Mcneace
Buford
Bennett
Spangler

Bennett would graduate, and we would need at least one more.
