But OSU and Texas are 4 seeds? Huh? Kinda tough considering we have beaten both of those teams, one of them on their home court and the other is in a tailspin. I guess it will all play out.

I've looked at other bracketologists and many of them, like Palm, are hesitant to drop osu very far. We all see their recent struggles, but maybe the national guys don't recognize the wheels beginning to fall off as quickly as we do.... with us being closer to the situation. I think osu is headed for 11-7 or even 10-8. And that would drop them to the 7-seed range.

The one thing that irks me the most about Palm's new bracket is that he moved Ohio St. up 5 seeds. They did get a win at Wisconsin (who is also struggling) this week, but they also lost to freaking Penn State this week....at home! That is absurd that they would move up like that.

It is very absurd to drop OU for a good win and a good loss but boost Ohio State a lot for a good win and a bad loss.

I don't agree with tOSU popping up the bracket, the reality is OU's margin for error is a smaller than some other teams due to perceived lack of high quality wins. If OU beats KU, that changes.

It's absurd to be critiquing seed projections half way through the conference season.

Then go ahead and check back in on this thread when the conference season is finished. No one here will miss you.

I think it's fair to project based on how you expect us to do the rest of the season rather than what we've already done.

For example, we have to still go to Lawrence and Stillwater, whereas OSU already did their away "Gooner game" and endured their Lawrence loss.

Unless he's just being lazy and forgetting OSU's recent losing 3 of last 4 skid, I think it's fair. Besides... does it matter what seed we are so long as we're in? Even the First Four play-in isn't a death warrant. Rather, it might be a ticket to the Final Four :D

if we arent going to be a 3, a 6 is better than a 4 or 5

In Palm's defense, the last bracket he did was already after the Penn St. loss and OU's victory over OSU, which moved us up to a 4 in his bracket. I'm just not sure how a competitive loss at Iowa St. warranted us moving down 2 spots especially considering OSU and Texas are 4's

That's right...he does update his bracket 2-3 times per week, so that Ohio State loss was already accounted for. Still, a win over a struggling Wisconsin team still doesn't warrant a 5 seed jump. I can see a 2 to 3 seed jump....but that's it.

Exactly.

I don't understand being upset about a projection that will change week to week until March.

plus, a 6 means we are 21-24 in the rankings. right about where we are in most polls
