I am never in favor of hiring the hot coach in the tourney. That has always seemed silly, especially since one guard getting insanely hot can make a deep tourney run possible for just about anyone.

where do you people come up with this idea that we will get some recruiting phenom and out-talent everyone?

it's not gonna happen and, frankly, it's a horrible approach. It's a CAPELESQUE approach.

Better recruiting is great. but you need someone first who can coach the recruits OU can get of its' own accord and win games.

Rely on recruiting and we will get stuck again like we did with TMG et al

Agree. This is why Sampson was so successful. Won with what OU got because of coaching.

Is Joe C throwing these names around or a bunch of anonymous people on a message board? Lord I love to come here for a good laugh. No one has a clue as to what Joe C is doing. He keeps everything underwraps until he makes the announcement. Will it be a terrible hire? I'm sure for some it will be and others will love it. We'll know after next season.
