Interesting tweet from Trier. Could that be a sign of things to come? Is it possible that Jordan may be instrumental in getting him to OU someday?

Trier also tweeted the following: Jordan Woodard already convincing me to go to OU with him does sound very convenient I can't lie lol #Pasue if it was worthy.

I have been wanting this for two years. So excited to keep a local kid from a great family (also a fellow bulldog). Wish his brother could have come as well but at least he will be joining his sis.

Can someone fill me in on what I/we can realistically expect from him as a freshman, sophmore, junior, then senior.

The video of him is quit impressive. he is a kid that will come in immediately and start at the point? He looks very talented.

Lol, I guess what im asking is if anyone has seen him play live. Its tough to base on a video, although the video is pretty impressive.

There was one poster who I cannot remember but I think is an Oklahoma H.S. coach and I believe that he was not as impressed with Woodard as many other people that have seen him. That poster specifically pointed to last years state title game and said that Union's guards, particularly a kid that is going I think to an NAIA school outplayed both brothers. In their defense, it was stated by other posters that once Memorial got up by a few points, they took the air out of the ball and just played not to lose. That is the ONLY negative I've ever read on the kid, and he is generally considered a Top 100 player nationally so the consensus is that he is pretty good.

I have seen him play several times. He is fearless in attacking the basket and can absoarb contact and still finish at the rim. His shot needed some work the last time I saw him. He gets after it on defense. Has very solid handles. Good player.

Its going to be an interesting high school year for Jordan and I think will tell a lot about his future.

This is his first year in high school with it fully being his team. As a sophomore, which was an impressive year for a first year varsity player, Memorial was lead by Obi Emegano and of course James Woodard. Last year James was still there along with Terrell Savala (a good shooter/all around scorer that's heading to UCO) and their do it all forward Jordan Thomas was another leadership factor.

There will still be talent around him (Shaq Morris transferring in gives him his first true post player to play with in high school and Stillwater transfer Tyler Holcomb is a good 6 foot 4 shooter that'll spread the floor), but its on Woodard to lead them. Which I think is something he will do.

In July he played with Athlete's First at the GASO in Texas. The roster with he played with was depleted; with only 6 players and they had picked up a few 2014s that weren't A1 regulars. I thought that tournament was the best I'd seen him play in a while/possibly ever (2011 EYBL in Dallas was a masterful tournament from Jordan). He did all the things you would want a point guard to do, picking his spots to score, getting his teammates involved, smart defense, etc.

To be candid, I don't think Jordan had a great junior season. He had some spurts of greatness; second quarter of Edmond Santa Fe, first half of PC West, second half of Putnam City, fourth quarter vs Edison come to mind. I'm not saying it was a bad season (he started on a team that almost won state, can't be bad if you're doing that) I just thought it could've been better overall. Maybe he never fully found his rhythm,I believe he was carrying some injuries throughout the year, or didn't want to step on the senior's toes. Whatever it was, it's in the past and the future looks bright.

I think his GASO performance in which he took a young and small (in players and height) team to the semifinals of a good AAU tournament was an impressive sign. He also spent time at some of the elite Nike camps (Deron Williams' PG camp and Lebron's overall camp) this summer, so that can't hurt matters.

I expect a big year from Jordan high school wise. Not only should we see a bump in scoring, but he'll have the reigns for his team. He's always struck me as a natural point guard (which is something I think Kruger values about him) and now that he has the keys to Memorial's car, it could be a fun and telling ride.

One last factor to think about in Jordan's development. He's only 16 and won't be 17 till November, making him the age of most 2014 prospects (even some 2015s that love to reclassify at prep schools).

Edmond Memorial is a school that plays team ball. They don't have an offense that highlights one particular player, that is how the older Woodard kid stayed under the radar for so long Kruger likes Woodard because of how he runs the offense of memorail and following him on the AAU circuit he likes how strong he plays on defense and his scoring abilities. He plays however the team needs him to play. Mr. B has a quote on the bottom of his posts that says it all, it is not 1 vs 5 or 2 vs 5 but it takes a team and that is how the kid plays.

I coached against him.

Jordan is scary good in the open court. He has another gear and can really push it up the Court. His shot has improved every year and he seems like a great team player and does not hunt shots like many Hs stars do. if I was a college coach I would love to have him as my pg for 4 years.

Jordan has all of my respect after that last game. After he missed the last shot he manned up and shook hands and stood there and clapped for all of our guys. You could tell he was upset but he did everything right and I walked off that court thinking is a great Kid. I told him he had a great year, keep your head up because you have special talent in this game.

The guy that said Jordan was outplayed by Sedrick Johnson isn't a coach on the staff.

I hope my comments were taken the way they were intended, and thank you for further clarifying your prior comments, all of which in that thread were not actually attributable to you. My mind has gotten hazy since being a former Redskin, Class of 90 :-)

The way I see it OU has 4 solid backcourt players returning next season plus Clark and Neal. If M'Baye returns and OU can add some post players they should have a descent team. I still expect a small step back because the loss of Pledger, Fitzgerald, Osby and Grooms is going to be a big loss but things seem to be going in the right direction for the first time in several years.

I'm very excited about this commitment. Love everything I've heard and read about Jordan and will have to go watch him in person this season.

Boomer Sooner!
