I did not get to watch the whole game on Tuesday, only caught the last bit, but why was Jordan sitting at the end of the game?

Didn't play well.

And it's not that Hornbeak played better, but I think LK used that game to kind of "teach" Woodard a bit. Let him know that he will bench him if he isn't doing the things we need him to do.

Even though we lost I think it will serve us well long term that Hornbeak got some crunch time minutes.

It damn well better. I don't like losses to illustrate or verify a point the coach is trying to make to a player. We could have used Jordan, with his driving ability, in the last several minutes. I'm not going to say we would've won, but it bothered me that he wasn't in the game. I trust Kruger, but it peeves me that we lost to a team that we shouldn't have lost to.

Similar to the way Jeff Capel used to assert control over his players. Oh wait that never, ever happened.

I don't think Kruger set Woodard down to get his attention or to make a point. He set him down because he wasn't playing well. Hornbeak didn't shine either. But, that is beside the point. Kruger was just trying to win the game.

By playing a player that's not as good? Woodard on his worse day is better than Hornbeak on his best. Game management was horrible down the stretch by the guards.

First part of this post is absolutely ridiculous.

It is but not by much
Jordan's worse game this season may have been his game @ kansas:
5 pts, 20% FG, 50% FT, 1 rebound, 2 assists, 2 TOs

Hornbeake's best game this year?
vs Idaho: 12 pts, 57% FG, 50% FT, 4 reb, 6 ass, 2 TO

That statement is totally inaccurate. Where in the world did you get that idea? If you want to say that Woodard has a higher ceiling than Hornbeak, fine. If you want to say that Woodard has displayed some skills that Hornbeak hasn't, fine. But, Hornbeak is Woodards equal in some aspects and his superior in others.

Hornbeak is a good player. Woodard has never been able to guard Hornbeak and Hornbeak has always been able to guard Woodard in any scrimmage or drill that I have witnessed since Woodards arrival.

Woodard didn't get the starting job because he swamped Hornbeak. Hornbeak started out as the best and was the best all along up to the start of the season. Woodard steadily closed the gap as time went along. And may have caught up or passed Hornbeak in some areas. But, let's not act like Hornbeak is Carl Blair. Kruger decided to go with the developing freshman. I wouldn't argue with that call.

Wow. That is a awful statement.

Not by much? Is that serious? Not to mention all the stuff Hornbeak does that doesn't show up in the stat sheet like playing solid defense, making the extra pass, being able to spell multiple guys because of his versatility to play multiple positions.

Some of you guys talk about Hornbeak like he's some scrub we had to fill in as a practice body. He's a solid Big12 contributor with a gimp foot, when he gets healthy and when he has a full healthy offseason he will be a great contributor. As a junior and senior he could be one of the best 6th man in the conference.

he showed signs of being a good player last year. maybe his issues are b/c of injury this year, maybe not.

I just htink that right now, whether it is injury or not, he is a below average big 12 guard.

After Buddy's injury he was a shell of himself the rest of the year, safe bet is that it is hinduring his play significantly.

You are right about Buddy. The difference is that Buddy had surgery. Hornbeak did not.

I'm sure it is effecting his performance, I haven't seen him attack the rim near as much as he did earlier in the season.

I'm sure it is too. I'm only saying that because he didn't have a surgery he will likely get back to normal much quicker than Buddy did.

Hopefully his quick return won't have any long term effects.
