I guess OU isn't really in play for Cunningham anymore. I read on Rivals that Indiana had offered him, and he said he wanted to play in the Big 10 because that's where the best players are.

Are there any real serious options for OU for the last 'ship this year? Juco? I guess its more likely they wait to give it out next year.

My best guess is that OU will save the 'ship for the 2015 recruiting class, unless a really good D-1 transfer wants to come on board.

Probably save it... But booker came late...

Couple local juco's have been scouted but I don't know how serious

By my math, there are actually two open spots available for the 2014 class, if OU wanted to use them. You can have 13 players on Scholarship.

Neither of the local Juco's are good enough to play at Oklahoma. But, those aren't the only two that they are looking at.

Are the others post players?

I don't have anything specific. I just know that they want a power forward type that is good enough to play right away.

I did ask a short while back if Cunningham slips away, did they have a plan B. The answer was a no hesitation yes.

Good to hear! We Definitely need a post we can plug and get minutes immediately. Would love to get a one year transfer type like KU got Tarik Black.

2012 : Isaiah Cousins
2013 : Frank Booker
2014 : ???

I'll say this, if Kruger and co find another kid to sing in spring, I imagine they see something they like in him and he can turn out to be a pretty decent asset.

I really hope we can find a big that can transfer and play right away, hopefully a senior so it keeps our class sizes about even. Would be nice to be able to bring along our freshman a bit slower and whoever can help is a bonus, not a necessity.

Krugs has connections seemingly everywhere, wouldn't be surprised to see him find another kid looking for a good situation, and next year we will have a lot more attractive roster for someone to join (potentially off a sweet 16 run?:D)

I'm not too optimistic about signing Cunningham, but it doesn't appear that we're completely out of the picture yet. I saw an interview with him two to three days ago on the ESPNU recruiting show, and OU is still among the schools on his list.

The reporter tried to narrow his choices by first asking what he was looking for in a school. His response was a good relationship with coaches, a family atmosphere, etc. When asked if one of the schools on his list stood out as having all of those things, he gave the usual "politician's" response in saying they all did.

I like the idea of signing a quality big who can come in and play right away. But even if we don't, I think we'll be fine. I expect Buford and Lattin to come in and give us quality minutes, and maybe even compete for a starting spot in the not too distant future. I also feel a lot better about Bennett now. He has played really well of late. If he develops a short range game on offense and patents a post move or two in the off season, it might be tough to move him down in our rotation this fall.

It's times like this I wish Tyler had redshirted somewhere along the way.

a lot of D-1 coaches have been visiting Connors and Eastern lately... why wouldn't we be interested in those guys???

We are interested. Prob not ideal prospects. You can slow play still on jucos
