that would be true if ALL of the players were in the same class... you get players that contribute later on in their careers all of the time..
ya the potential player may have transferred but so what? you got a shot at a player with a real D-1 ceiling and you try another fit with the now opened scholly-- as opposed to a player that MAY contribute at best, tyler neal minutes as a senior
No, it applies to every team every year. In OU's case. Building back a program is a process. It is not an event.
When Kruger got here he had a small handful of decent players and people. But, he had just as many bums and stiffs. He brought in Arent. Casey never developed into much of a player. But, he was a good character kid, a hard worker, and because of size a fair obstacle for our front line players in practice. But, now, and going forward, Kruger won't bring in a kid like Casey. He can afford to wait and work to find better.
CJ is an upgrade over Casey. But, he is filling a similar role. He has a chance for that role to expand some. Going forward, Kruger is in a position that he can wait and work to sign better prospects than CJ.
Kruger wasn't doing anything wrong when he signed CJ and CJ wasn't doing anything wrong by coming here.
