Here is a link to the top 150 Juco's for this year. Certainly when you get below the top 25 or so, the talent level starts dropping considerably.

I think the fact that Jurick hasn't verbaled yet means there is at least a shot with him. Assuming of course that our current staff likes him enough to recruit him. Grooms is rated pretty high.

Didn't see the combo-guard listed that we are recruiting. Or were recruiting. Blanking on his name.

There is a player named...

GOD'S GIFT ACHIUWA

Sign this man!

Bring me the son of Cocaine Mothershead

Rivals doesn't list OU for either Jurick or Grooms. Am I missing something? I thought Grooms was about to commit, when Capel was fired.

Rivals does a bad job of updating school lists for a lot of kids, especially jucos.

You're too kind, Sam.

I'll put it this way: JUCO JUNCTION SUX! And that's putting it mildly. I can't believe that I was dumb enough to waste good money on a premium membership last year. Proves that you never get too old to learn.

They may not be great, but considering they are the ONLY site I've been able to find that puts together ANYTHING for Juco's, they will be a site I continue to look at.

You're right, there are no other sites out there that focus on JUCOs. I just grew tired of the numerous teaser headlines and posts on the premium board with a promise of more to come later. JUCO Junction is not what it used to be several years ago. Even their affiliation with Rivals is kind of an arms length relationship...at least that's what I was told when I contacted Rivals about my membership.

I like two Point Guards...Pierre Jackson-Southern Idaho was the MVP of the National Championship in Hutchinson and Chris Colvin who is a bounce-back from Iowa State and played at Palm Beach Juco

Jackson averaged 18.5 ppgs wth 4.4 assists and shot 38% on 175 three-pointers

Colvin averaged 17.9 ppg with 6.7 assists and shot 54% on 74 3 pointers

A third Point Guard is Lateef McMullan from Citrus CC in California. The roster says his is from Tulsa but attended a Prep School before going to UC-Riverside. He averaged 16.3 PPG and 4.1 assists and shot 39% on 231 3-pointers.

God's Gift Achiuwa is being highly recruited but he averaged 22.3 ppg and 11.7 rebounds.

A rebounder to look at is Connell Crossland who is 6-7, and from John A Logan in Illinois. He averaged 17.0 ppg and pulled in 12.3 Rebounds.
There is a 7-0 Juco Center, Kyle Luckett who plays at Chabot CC in California. He Juco Coach coached at a small college in Oklahoma. Luckett averaged 12 ppg ad 10 rpg with 4.2 blocks.

Phillip Jurick played in 2 Games at the Juco Nationals and put in 28 minutes and fouled out of both games. He scored 4 points, had 14 rebounds and 7 blocks. He is a fouling-machine, and he also only shot 26% from the Free Throw line.

I am a Long-Time reader and first time poster and I feel like with Lon Kruger coming in, OU's Basketball future looks bright.

Good stuff, Nooneb! Too bad you waited so long to join in our discussions. You clearly have a lot to offer. Now that LK has drawn you out of your posting closet, I hope you will contribute more often :)

Thanks...I always like the information I read here.

I forgot to mention the best thing about Pierre Jackson. He went to high school in Las Vegas, so I would think that Kruger a his staff would know about him.
Colvin is from Chicago, Whitney Young High School and they have a bit of a reputation too.

If you go back and look at last years top 150, other than the kid from Missouri, nearly all of those guys were non-starters or made little impact. The days of finding juco guys that can start and average double figures like Taj Gray, Terrell Evertt, Aaron Mcghee, Ebi Ere, Jason Detrick etc etc all at the same time are gone. The juco ranks are VERY watered down.

I'd be willing to be that 10 years ago the #3 juco player in the nation was quite a step up from Robert Goff.

Not to metion that some of the top juco players in the country in recent years were named Omar Leary and Kyle Cannon. Nick Thompson and Orlando Allen were also considered pretty good, as far as juco rankings go.

Many of the kids that wouldn't have the grades and would be forced to go to Juco for two years now just go to college for one year, never attend class and go to the nba.

2 of the top 13 players on this years list are going to Coastal Carolina!

The Juco ranks is selective recruiting. I have heard you can't win with Jucos ever since Buzz said he was staying at Marquette. Buzz wins with Jucos. Buycks..Johnson-Odom...Crowder...are all Jucos.

We need some help and most of the High School kids are signed. Be picky...offer the BEST...and if they turn us down, move on.

This is exactly right.

Paris JUCO head coach Chuck Taylor now that is old school

If you look at the list above you will see at #52 Corderio Macklin from Connors. My question is HOW??? He scored at a blistering clip of 7.3 ppg and burned up the boards with 3.9 rebounds.

Billy wouldn't even say these guys know anything. God's Gift a #21 and Pierre Jackson at #62. PLEASE!

Brandon Givens isn't even on the list. He's from Jones, Mississippi and scored at 23.8 ppg.

Jackson at the National Tournament was MVP..and cored at a 24.5 clip in the tourney.

Be selective. Don't make a living on it.

Nick Thompson scored 9.7 ppg and 4.5 rebounds. The telling stat about Nick was .12 blocks. I still don't know WHY Capel would do such a thing.
