Kansas alum and recruit Marcus Smart

I actually agree with Klegg (don't worry I'll try not to do that again)...this doesn't pass the smell test. This reeks of Kejuan Jones' move from Tulsa Hale to Jenks....Forte is just giving the Smart's "a piece of the pie".

I don't know...is that really the point? I didn't include taxes and insurance either. The point is the house cost $143000

ok so let say he got the house for 143,000, payed 20% down, which is 28,600. So now he has a 114,400 Loan and got 5%. Since he put 20% now he has no PMI, and lets say property tax is 1.5%. That puts a monthly payment at around 800. All that assumes in Forte covers the home owners insurance which is prolly 100 a month

Who put 20% down??? See you just don't get it. If Forte put 20% down then that 28,600 he essentially "loaned" the Smarts.

It doesn't matter how you slice it, you can't allow this for obvious (to most people) reasons.

I guess then you are OK with Gallon's mom getting that loan last year then, huh????

How is this in any way related to Tiny?

Loans from "boosters"...

Tiny loan was not from a booster. Jesus christ get your facts straight. He was an investment banker and he prolly wanted in on Tiny so he could manage his NBA money for him. If he was a booster he would have been a FSU booster anyways.

Your assumption on the property taxes are too low. No state income tax in Texas so they get you with property taxes. From doing a quick search, his tax rate on that house would be close to 3.1%. And the home insurance rate in Texas is the highest in the nation.

I was about to mention the same thing.

My brother pays an exhorbitant amount of property taxes but he lives in Frisco, which is a bit east of Flower Mound.

That's why I put the term boosters in quotes. Again, what difference would it make???

If a "friend" can loan money to a prospective recruit, then you open up the chance for agents/boosters befriending kids when they are young and claiming to be friends when they give them cash.

This really is not rocket science...of course I'm still trying to get you out of basic math...:ez-roll:

Really? Boosters? Please, and don't give the " " as a loose interpretation.

Tiny's loan was financed through a third party, in order to get his transcript. Unfortunately, the person who set-up the meeting was an assistant coach.

There really wasn't anything wrong with what Tiny did, except for the fact that Coach T hooked the parties up.

I own a house in Dallas....taxes are exuberant compared to most of the rest of the nation, but those places have state income taxes. They have to get you some place :)

Property taxes and home insurance on a house like that would be roughly $500/month. The renting rate quoted in the story isn't too far off what would be standard rent on a place like that.

Wow, if you believe that then I have some oceanfront property in South Dakota you'd be interested in.

so we took different paths to get to the same conclusion?

I agree. I only posted it that way to explain why it's frowned upon. If you allow it one way, you're gonna open a HUGE loophole (ie. Cam Newton...)

I agree there is more to it than Camp is seeing, but I also agree that there is now way the Meryl Lynch guys can in any way be considered a booster to the Men's Basketball Team at the University of Oklahoma
