Kansas alum and recruit Marcus Smart

I agree there is more to it than Camp is seeing, but I also agree that there is now way the Meryl Lynch guys can in any way be considered a booster to the Men's Basketball Team at the University of Oklahoma

Either way, it will affect a kid's eligibility...which was more or less what the WHOLE, original article was about.

From what we know, Hausinger wasn't a booster and was just a guy who thought Tiny was a surefire NBA prospect.

I just don't buy that transcript bs. Why was Tiny's transcript held?

I agree. I only posted it that way to explain why it's frowned upon. If you allow it one way, you're gonna open a HUGE loophole (ie. Cam Newton...)

But Cam Newton was allowed to play! So even it this Forte Guy is in the Wrong we can go back to :Well Marcus didn't know what his dad was doing" and there is already precedence.

Wow, if you believe that then I have some oceanfront property in South Dakota you'd be interested in.

Hey, it's just as likely as a scenario as the worst case. Maybe I don't remember, but I think it was stated the money was paid back in a pretty timely matter. Hausinger (sp?) tried to establish a relationship by helping out Tiny, that much is true and why he is no longer at OU.

However, if there really was intent for the loan not to be paid back in a timely fashion and more money coming down the pipe...pretty sure the NCAA would be hammering the program. Especially since it was facilitated by Coach T.

I only listed the Cam Newton scenario to show you what kind of HORRIBLE precedent the action could set...

It may have been held because his tuition had not been fully paid and the school wouldn't release his records without the back tuition paid in full. Oak Hill isn't a public school.

I think an administrator at Oak Hill confirmed the story about the Gallon's indeed owing the amount loaned. I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere.

and i was just saying that the horrible precedent has been set already

When Marcus signs with Kansas, we'll know why.

Yep, it will have nothing to do with Kansas being a top 5 program and putting guys in the NBA (even guys like Cole Slaw that have no business being there)

I understand why it could set up a bad precedent and why Gallon and Coach T had to leave.

And you'd expect them to speak honestly?

If his tuition was not being paid, who paid his tuition in the first place? His mother? Surely not and if so, why could she not have afforded $3K? WHo paid his tuition up until that last semester?

I believe Auburn is still under construction

they got the national championship and he got the heisman and will now be a top 10 pick. The NCAA had there chance to get him in November and ruled then that he could still play when they had the evidence of what Cecil did to MSU

So the moral of the story don't help friends but try to sell your kids services to the highest bidder

If by helping friends, you're helping yourself and possibly another entity (Kansas), then no that shouldn't be going on.

But we don't know if that is the case. All we know is that Forte helped out a friend. Everything else is speculation. I am one to buy into innocent until proven guilty.

It's America in 2011...everyone is guilty until proven innocent.

Yes, I do...if they want to stay an accredited prep school and not a diploma mill.

Something tells me if kids were getting free education, then Oak Hill would of been punished long before now, it's not like this is new.

Anthony, Lawson, Jennings and many more have attended Oak Hill Academy.
