Karron Johnson to OSU....

Hasn't this guy committed to OSU like 14 times now?

And to the guy saying he wishes OU knew how to get top JuCo talent...

You realize CJ Washington was JuCo AA last year?
And that Goff will be one of the top players in JuCo this year? (with offers from IU and tOSU)

Not trying to discount Washington's accolodes by any means, but the JUCO AA title has a nice ring to it, but doesn't carry a whole lot of weight. Lots of times, a JUCO AA is named just because his team made it to Hutch and he played well. There might be others that are better at his position, but don't get the national notoriety due to the scarcity of JUCO rankings, reviews, etc. (see: Omar Leary)

If I am looking JUCO, I wouldn't even consider awards like AA. More interested in their individual skill sets and how they would fit into my team's puzzle.

This Karron Johnson saga has been interesting, no doubt.

I never really thought he would ever end up on the OSU campus. I'm still sort of in the "I'll believe it when I see him in uniform" mode...

I understand what you're saying, but Washington averaged 20 and 13.

National Title contender? Ill take some bets on that.

To me OSU has under achieved since Ford has gotten there. He kicks off all of his post players(Adams, Thomas, Akol, Kirkland, and Walker)...which kept Eaton from ever playing with a complete squad.

I would like to say that OSU could be at the top of the big 12 but for all I know...he won't play Pilgrim and Moses at the same time. If those 2 guys play the majority of the game "at the same time" they could end up winning the big 12. If Ford just plays 4 guards and one post player...they will be in the middle of the big 12 as he has been since he has been there. And I will see no signs of him ever leaving it.

I think this is an interesting post. I do think this year is kind of a crossroads for Ford, i.e. his coaching style. I truly believe he didn't play two posts at a time the first year because besides Moses (after Thomas left) there was nobody to play at the 4 besides Anthony Brown and Kirkland, who were not Big XII starter material (or maybe even bench).

Then last year, I know some OSU fans (I, one of them) wanted Pilgrim and Moses in the game at the same time. But, then when they were in the game together (albeit, very seldom) they looked really bad playing together. Plus, Obi matched up with a 4 on offense was more of a positive than him playing the other team's 4 on defense.

So, I'm really hoping this year there is a Moses/Pilgrim frontcourt or a Pilgrim/D. Williams frontcourt. Because, I think to win a lot of big games you need that size. If J.P. Olukemi turns out to be an undersized starting 4 this year, it'll be a disappointment in my eyes.

Plenty of talent in the starting five. But they're weak at the 1 and the bench would be questionable (if you're talking final four).

Well, I totally disagree.

He took over a team that, while having some talent, had been MONUMENTALLY underacheiving under Sean Sutton.

Part of it was some guys with attitude problems (all of the guys you mentioned) whom Ford promptly showed the door. I think we all understand how guys with attitude problems can affect an entire team.

While undersized, OSU's frontcourt has actually performed pretty well over Ford's two seasons. We outrebounded our opponents last year and Moses averaged a double-double in Big 12 play the year before.

He's made the NCAA Tournament two years in a row after OSU missed the tournament for 3 straight years. It's hard to understand how he's "underachieved."

Depsite the loss of Anderson, this year will be the first season that Ford has close to a "complete" team with depth at almost every postion. It will be interesting to see if he kicks up the tempo.

No team with Page as the starting PG will win a NC or go to a Final Four. That is all.

I'm not saying we'll do either of those things, but people have been underestimating Page from day 1.

Many posters (both here and on OSU sites) said Page would never see the floor at OSU.... then he would never make any kind of impact... then he wouldn't contribute without Eaton and Harris... and on and on and on...

He's been a starter and significant contributor on two consecutive NCAA tournament teams. The kid can play.

I'm always interested in hearing about what Page "can't" do, because he tends to prove doubters wrong.

Keiton Page is VERY good and would start for any team in the league.

Huge pickup (again) for the Cowboys.. Big 12 Newcomer of the year type of recruit.

Last year he was named the NJCAA Region 16 Player of the Year at Moberly (Mo.) Area Community College after averaging 22 points and 7.9 rebounds.

If they get Nash as expected, OSU could be putting together a final four, national championship contender type of team.

PG: Keiton Page
SG: JP Olukemi (#1 juco in nation. Ford said he will be their leading scorer this year)
SF: Lebryan Nash (#4 player in nation)
PF: Karron Johnson (#1 juco in nation)
PF: Darrell Williams (#13 juco in nation)

Ford is putting it all together in Stillwater right now.

This is depressing. 3 years ago it looked like OU was in position to step on OSU's neck and dominate them in basketball for decades. Now OU is predicted to finish 11th in the conference and you are pimping OSU for a final four run.

I agree, he can play basketball. You don't have to be a fan to be honest. He was a major contributor in the Big XII as a freshman. I don't have any stastics but I suspect less than half the freshman in the conference (all time) play as much and as well as he did.

Jeff, getting Paige's stats is simple. You just go to OSU website and cut and paste them. I was talking about the stats for the average freshman. I have no clue where you would find that information.

Well, you could go look them all up on the various team sites and then come up with an average... that would take some time, though. :)

I love Page as much as any OSU fan, but I really don't see him starting over Ray Penn at PG. BTW Harrison commited to St. Johns not OSU.
