Come back home for the reunion!

Eduardo will be there too. Looks like everyone will be there. This is a great start for the Kruger era. I don't remember any type of reach out with Capel. Not saying he didn't reach out at all. I'm sure he did. But there wasn't a big reunion like this was there?

Sampson AND Eduardo?

Makes me sad that I cannot be there. Do you think there will eventually be video of the game, and any "speeches" given?

Great news with regards to Kelvin and Eduardo!!!

I'm sure Kruger reached out to Capel but it would be probably too soon for him to return in his eyes. I hope one day he'll be able to return. He's not a bad person.

NickZepp,

I think each year there is a "reunion" weekend and during the halftime of a game the former alumni are introduced but nothing this big.

They do have a reunion every year or every other year, but the guys who are playing overseas are never able to attend. I suspect that's why they are having this reunion in August.

I agree and he was in a bad spot, some of it being his fault or the fault of his staff or just bad luck. But I don't think that poorly on Capel other than we just weren't that good. This isn't like John Blake-Stoops type thing when Blake basically threw away all the recruiting info for the next staff.

I don't think it is reasonable to invite the coach you just replaced, whether it be in the manner Capel replaced Sampson, or the manner Kruger replaced Capel. Only a guy retiring seems to me to be a good situation to have a guy back soon after; way to awkward and distracting.

Sampson came back for the KU game when they honored him for the 100 Years Celebration they had throughout the season, and it was the first season he had left OU and went to Indiana.

I remember my friends and I weren't sure how the crowd was going to react when they honored him, but everyone applauded him and gave him a standing ovation. I would bet the same would happen to Capel, but it's probably too soon on Capel's behalf. Not to mention I believe he is overseas with Duke.

Right. I think honoring the 10-Year Anniversary of OU's last Final Four team helps out as well.

What's the over/under on how many hard fouls will Najera dish out during the alumni game?

Kinda off topic and it's going to sound like I'm insulting Capel here but it's not meant that way. But I would love to have seen Blake play in a Kelvin like system. He was already a bad arse with this talent but put him in a system that was all about being physical and he would have put it to another level.
