Last year, Epps only scored 13 against us. The year before, it was 29 in the game that we won, except that they made the bogus call on Kornet to give the game to Kentucky. Last year, we lost in Lexington, just before Washington, a team that we beat on their home court, beat Kentucky on their way to the Final Four.

Kentucky is difficult to read this year. They rolled over six very weak teams and lost in their only game against quality, to Colorado in Boulder. Seem to be good at home.

They outshoot their opposition by about 46-31% from the field, and they get more free throws than their opponents, although shooting only 70% from the line. They are about like us from three, about 33%. They slightly outrebound their opponents and average about four fewer turnovers per game.

After last year, Kentucky lost a starter due to transfer, and another key reserve also transferred. Epps and Ekhator are back, as is Morris. But, they do have some new faces, and they appear to be only seven deep, maybe due to the rash of transfers.

Since they have played so many teams like Albany, Morehead State, Samford, and New Hampshire, they are difficult to get a read on. They did catch Miami (F) in Lexington. All games except Colorado were at home.

They are up to #9 in the rpi (OU is #7). In the AP, we are #12, and they are #17. Seems about right. But, thus far, it seems that nobody is beating a ranked team on their home court. It would be nice if we were to do that.

I'm hoping our strength of schedule helps puts us over the top here. Hopefully, our changing up of defenses can keep them below the 46% level. I'd love if we averaged that!

Watched part of the Kentucky-Samford game.

They looked good but again the competition was not great. They put a lot of pressure on teams with both zone and man to man defense. Looks like they will force us to shoot a lot of treys and that is bad news with our 27% performance to date. Samford shot 24 treys.

Samford did do some damage in the middle so hopefully we can get the ball to ViVi and EJ in position to score. They also had a nice opening against the zone just in front of the free throw line.

Kentucy appears to be a decent outside shooting team with 33% from behind the arc, albeit against lesser competition than we have faced. They are very accurate with mid range shots and seem to favor them over the long range shots. Epps and Murray will be a handfull and will constantly be driving to the hoop for layups and midrange jumpers. Our help defense better come to play. They take care of the ball, averaging just over 11 turnovers per game. They did have 17 against Colorado and lost that game.

7:00 tonight, UVerse 607 in Dallas. That's the SEC channel.

Excited to see how we play tonight against a quality opponent. Let's go Sooners!

Some of you were skeptical about my previous prediction - which was pretty accurate.

So here is one for this game.

We will not beat Kentucky by more than 20 points.

;) :D ;)

I'll be happy with a one point victory. Think how much good that would do for this team's moral, incentive and determination!

I can't really judge OU right now but from what I seen so far they look like OU the last few years. Don't see any talent upgrade much, on the slow side. They seem to be playing harder right now, dunno know how many wins they get this year. If I was to say...I would say avg team.

From what I have seen so far this year - KY by 20 or so.

UCONN up on #15 DePaul 42-6. :billy

Am I the only one that would put Maddie on Epps and let someone else beat us?

When that big girl gets the ball on the side of the lane she needs to shoot that.

I doubt that we keep shooting 47% from three. But, I doubt that Kentucky hits as much either. We have to hit our free throws (Vivi and EJ were 0-4).

Kentucky likes to force more turnovers, and they like to get us in foul trouble. Thus far, neither has happened.

I'd like to see them go at Epps right away and try to get number three on her.

Looks like two teams evenly match other than coaching, well for a while anyway.
