Kruger has put the 'welcome' mat on the porch

I think this is pretty cool. I am not one of those fans that think Stoops "owes" us open practices and scrimmages, but OU football doesn't "need" to do this. They are part of our everyday life, and we don't need to be sold on it. For basketball, anything that gets fans more involved in the program and make it more fan friendly is a great idea. As Kruger said, he loved taking his kid's to practice. I am pretty excited about taking my little boy (that at 2 years old told me when he grows up he's gonna play basketball everyday) to a Sooner practice.

Totally agree, BoomerCase! Looks like we finally have a coach who "gets it." Lon Kruger is not so into himself and his coaching duties that he has lost sight of the fact that to be successful you have to get your fan base to take ownership of the product you're trying to sell. That's especially true of a school where football is the flavor of the day, every day.

I predict great things ahead if LK continues his assault on what has been the norm for so many years no one remembers why things were done a certain way or who started it. I'm even more convinced that he is the right man for the job, and it couldn't have come at a better time.

This type of approach will help build the kind of loyal following that Coale has done with the wbb fans. Hopefully people will be willing to shell out a few more bucks for games if they really feel invested in the program.

Now we just need to figure who's going to be responsible for posting practice schedules. I'm pretty excited about getting to watch them practice.

Yeah I will definitely check out a few practices. Especially down the road when we have new recruits, would like to see how they fit in the system.

Maybe a "subtle" thing, but it also tells me that LK nor his staff are profanity filled screaming at the player types. I still feel embarrassed [a little] for Travis Ford and the things you hear about his coaching demeanor.
