That's what that was right there.

Drew had no answer for the play we kept running to M'Baye, and the Baylor bigs couldn't cover our bigs to save their lives.

As for the announcers, why is Doherty, who has been fired everywhere he's coached, saying what he would do or how he would coach the team? Wow.

Don't think there will be one game in the conference where we are out coached. Lon is every bit as good a coach as Self if not better. If Lon had KU type talent he might be in the final four every year, and 16,000 in the stands.

I noticed his comments but didn't know who it was. Dumber than a box a rocks.

I agree completely. Kruger can coach and I think he will surprise some with his recruiting. He will have even better talent than Sampson was able to get.

Disagree. It isn't great coaching to let you big man shoot 15-20 foot jumpers. And it really isn't bad coaching to allow the other team's big man to shoot those jumpers.

Do I think LK is a way better bench coach than Drew? Absolutely. I'm just not sure it showed today, especially if you factor in OU almost choking the game away when Baylor came with pressure.

Good win, I'll take it, and we showed a lot of very good things tonight. But we pretty much won this ball game because we hit a ton of jumpers. We won't do that most nights, so we need to clean up the other things like turnovers, the easy baskets we gave up, and the offensive rebounds.

Why couldn't Drew devise a defense to stop M'Baye? The only thing that stopped him was him missing shots. He was open every time.

Getting Jefferson in foul trouble was huge, and Drew was outcoached by playing him with 2 fouls so much in the first half.

How about the defense that stymied Jackson? I guess Lon had nothing to do with that either? He hardly had an open shot all night.

Kruger gave Drew an X's and O's clinic tonight. The poster that sees it differently is the one that literally wrote OU off after the ORU game and classified OU as a bad team two possessions into the Ohio game. So, consider the source.

I like how Drew doesn't have Austin line up in the box when his team shoots free throws. Especially when two long misses Baylor had would have (more than likely) gone to the 7-1 big man.

Just to play the contrarian: Baylor went to 4 guards and almost came back and won. It didn't seem like we had an answer to that the last 8 mins.

Kruger outcoached him before they walked into the gym. His defense pretty well neutralized their hot scorers and the offensive game plan got a lot of open shots.

We beat the #2 team in the conference on their home court. A team loaded with hot recruits.

Kruger keeps his team in the game and he has been slowly building the team all season by giving the newer more talented players a lot of minutes and it is beginning to pay off. Buddy and Hornbeak didn't necessarily have their top game but both came through late in the game.

Where Kruger really put the game away was to have Pledger make a late break down he middle late on the out of bounds plays in the last minutes. That got the ball into the best shooters hand and he came through at the line.

He seems to have a good sense of how long he can let things go before he makes a change.

We are not going to be unhappy with his tenure at OU.

+1

That was Drew's call and it got Baylor back in the game.

He's still a terrible coach though.

The most boneheaded play was Baylor fouling with 25 seconds left and down by 2. There was a 10 second difference between shot and game clock so there was no reason to foul. I don't know if Drew called that during the timeout or if that was on the player(Bello?).

Bello made a cornucopia of bad decisions tonight. I don't know if he lacks basketball IQ, or had a bad game tonight, but he was our best player when he was on the floor.

Sometimes you need to be more than just a good athlete...

They got the lead down to 5, but we pushed it right back to 11 with 3 or 4 minutes to go.
Then an offensive rebounds led to a 3 by Heslip, and the refs stopped calling fouls, our senior PG was out with an injury, and Baylor went on a 10-0 run due to turnovers.

I don't think it was necessarily the coaching move that got Baylor back in it. It was that giant pulling down offensive boards, their white kid doing his job, and desperation forcing them to mug us, and the refs calling it loose.

This. I didn't get to see the game as it was played, but I just watched it and we really did not melt down, as I expected after reading the game thread. Baylor made some quality plays and the officials let them get away with murder when they pressed.
