Ku and major violations

It was a Penn State fan, a local paper found him and interviewed him.

Also, re: blue blood vs. non blue blood. Mary Hardin Baylor just had to vacate a football national title because some of their players were borrowing an old Subaru. Yet everyone with a brain knows 5-6 figures are changing hands for every recruit going to the Dukes, Kansas, Arizona, UNC's of the world, yet none of those programs ever seem to have to vacate anything.

I said I didn’t think this was the case. Also those schools have vacated a lot, they just recover quicker. Also they’ll still get top 75 guys bc those players wouldn’t normally get that kind of offer. Football cheats just as much, except it’s by donors more than shoe companies.

Why in the world do we think there is less money changing hands in NCAAF recruiting? NCAAF brings in a lot more money than NCAAB, thus far greater incentive.

I used to live in central PA. That person def meant it.

In between Philly and Pittsburgh is Alabama

Easy killer. I still live here. It's primarily red in central PA so much less of the "r" mindset is the norm.

And if you wanna throw stones, Philthy and Pittsburgh are the two primary sources of PA's problems.

About OU football? It wouldn't shock me if we were, but aside from the current freshman class, we haven't been landing the elite level recruits that are the equivalent of the guys getting money in hoops. So if we are cheating, we're not doing a very good job at it.

My bad for not clarifying, I meant the point I made about the NCAA forcing lots of blue bloods to vacate titles or FF appearances. It happens quite a bit. Obviously there is a legit argument as to whether that kind of sanction really matters, but it does happen to the elite programs, just like it does to the rest of the schools around the country.

It'd be nice if BT were sufficiently swayed by the reports of KU's behavior to look elsewhere, even if the NCAA lets them off on some technicality. When there's that much smoke...

If he were my kid, I'd be suggesting he cross them off his list.

I would be, too. But I’m an old school guy who can’t help but be disgusted by phonies like Self who pretend to be something they’re not.

I’m old enough to remember coaches like John Wooden and Dean Smith who developed great basketball teams the right way, not by looking for loopholes in the rules.

It’s lonely in our world these days, Skyvue!

John Wooden was one of the dirtiest of his time. Had a guy specifically to find out what it would take to get certain kids there. A lot of the older coaches, especially Bob Knight, talk about the stuff Wooden would do.

Never heard anything but good things about Wooden...

Sam Gilbert bought most of those championships. He once tried to write a check for a guy on another team just because he liked the way he played so much.

If true at least they won titles while cheating, seems worse to cheat and not win anything

You’re not alone. It’s obvious I didn’t know about the Wooden accusations. If they’re true, guess I used the wrong coach to make my point about Bill Self. Does Wooden’s guilt or innocence change anything? Not in my opinion.

Ha! It’s cool man I live in OK. Reminds me of central PA. Just speaking truths no shade trying to be thrown.
