Ku and major violations

Ok here the analogy people are making.

Coach O punched a guy in the face

Bill self killed a guy.

Both crimes, both bad, one is way worse than the other. That’s all anyone is saying.

Which I have stated multiple times that I full-heartedly agree with. Let's move on.

KU cheats and it’s no big deal. We’ll change The rules to protect them. No worries.

If OU eats too much pasta or texts too much, they’re criminals and need to be locked up.

KU is so sophisticated, classy, and above reproach. Even when they cheat.

OU is white trash and should be punished.

Double standard.

Ku had snoop dog decked in adidas gear. Stripper poles, dancers, cash shot out of a gun tonight at Phog.

Why on Earth are we so preoccupied comparing KU's current situation with stuff that happened to OU years ago, including things that don't even involve our basketball program? KU was banned from the NCAA tournament the year after winning the title. The other thing I don't understand is why people think the NCAA is interested in protecting KU. The NCAA is the entity that has served them with the notice of allegations and publicly accused their HOF coach of failing to control his program. Why would they do that if they wanted to protect KU? They could have let the entire thing quietly die if they didn't want to upset KU. Ask Rick Pitino how scared the NCAA is of blue bloods and legendary coaches.

Bottom line, the NCAA is idiotic and incompetent, but they aren't out to get OU or in KU's pocket. Every fan base on the planet thinks referees and the NCAA in general have it in for them. To me, that's the ultimate little brother attitude.

Kansas apologizes after Snoop Dogg's show at 'Late Night in the Phog'
Kansas athletic director Jeff Long issued an apology Friday night following a performance at Allen Fieldhouse by hip hop artist Snoop Dogg that included pole dancers, a money gun and profanity...

Because the NCAA punished OU severely for those actions. The NCAA has never punished a blue-blood basketball program. KU and OU compete on recruits almost every other year. If they have a guaranteed competitive advantage knowing the NCAA won't punish them, that makes their advantage for recruits even greater.

See one they just offered OU might have no chance on now:

What are you talking about, never punished a blue blood basketball program? Kansas was banned from the tournament the year after winning the title for crying out loud. Is that not punishment? Louisville, UConn, Michigan, UCLA, etc, have received serious sanctions. I guess if Duke and UNC are the only schools you consider blue bloods, maybe you are right. As for OU, I honestly don't remember the answer to this, but what "severe" punishment did our football team receive for the pasta incident that was referenced in the post I was replying to? I realize I'm probably wasting my breath here because if people want to believe in conspiracy theories, there is basically nothing that can convince them otherwise.

LOL. If only you knew the depth of my hatred for Kansas. I can promise you that no one on this board, or probably the planet, can hold a candle to me in that regard. I notice that you don't dispute anything in my post, which was in reply to someone making an obviously false factual claim that the NCAA has "never punished" a blue blood basketball program. It would actually be difficult to find a blue blood who has NOT been punished, but, again, I know logic plays no role in this discussion.

Is Snoop Dogg some top notch recruit or something? What did he do? grab himself, giving everyone the finger?

Punishments for blue bloods do not fit the crimes. They are cheating. Nobody debates it. It is how they stay on top. They may get slaps on a wrist. But nothing that will deter the cheating. Do you think missing the post season for one season is going to stop Kansas?

Meanwhile, the NCAA is a lot more likely to hand down punishments to non blue bloods for minor infractions

Didn't edit his songs like they asked him to, pole dancers, money guns. For a program who's under investigation that's not a good look.

I can just imagine the horror in a bunch of fat derpy Kansans as Snoop Dogg does his thing. The rural midwestern contingent is about as backwards and scary as it gets.

And there's a legit discussion to be had about these points. I don't agree with all of them, but they are reasonable. But these were not the arguments that the poster I was replying to made. He flatly said that no blue blood has ever been punished, period. All I did was point out that such a position is not remotely true.

Yeah I'm sure the older fans in attendance were upset over everything. It is very bad timing to have this happen right after the allegations though.

KU knew what they were doing. Its SNOOP!

Self wore the Addidas shirt with giant gold $ on it to promote it.

NCAA better grill them or its free game.

I think the basketball program definitely knew, the university I bet wasn’t told the full details.

I'm neither fat nor "derpy," and definitely not a Kansan (I do admit to being old), but I too would be offended if I took my family to what was billed as a basketball event and witnessed the "entertainment" that's been described.

If that makes me backwards and scary, so be it.

Maybe they thought he was the Peanuts character when they booked him?😉
