Simply put, West Virginia is not the same team without Bolton at the inbound point of their press. He makes them so much better defensively and with him suspended, their press doesn't have the bite it used to. If KU continues to hit some 3s, they will win this game by double digits.

A big part of their defensive philosophy is that the refs aren't going to call every foul, so just foul every possession. We were shooting free throws early and often when we played them, and we're not a team that generally shots many FTs.

I think the officials got glassy-eyed and swallowed their whistles on a lot of fouls.
