Kur Kuath commits to OU

he reminds me (build-wise) of McNeace. Long, tall, gazelle. He actually has a decent jumper with these incredibly long arms. It will be really interesting to see what coach does with him. He could make such a living out of 14' bank shots.

So, are we still in on/leading for Khavon Moore?

Good read. “Kur is just a good kid,” Cosby said. “He has a motor most guys don’t have. You never have to tell him to hustle.”. .Added Cosby: "He was a late bloomer. … He was a good shot blocker, but now he's amazing."

Can he block out and hold on to a ball?!

I like that part about his high motor! He appears to have a nice all-around inside game on both sides of the ball. I also like his stroke from the perimeter, but I would rather see him finish moving toward the basket, not falling away on every shot.

How can you have a decent jumper and shoot 25% on threes and 51% on free throws.

Point well made. I didn’t bother to look at the stats when I said his “stroke” looked good. If he’s not shooting a higher percentage, it’s obvious there is a flaw somewhere that needs to be tweaked.

That said, I doubt if OU’s coaches wanted him for his ability to score from the perimeter. I’m not totally sold on this pick, but I can see the potential.

Can he make layups in traffic? That's something that our current roster outside of Trae seems to struggle with.

I’m concerned with his ability to play physical in the post. 6’9” and 173 pounds is skinnier than Lattin. I think he’s a shot blocker and can jump out of the gym, but post play is guerilla warfare in the B12.

When I talked to one of the OU staffers last summer, he said they brought in Polla because they realized they needed to be stronger and knew Lattin and McNeace are more finesse players. Blocking out and keeping an opposing player from posting up and backing you down takes a toll. Can you imagine a player like KU’s Azubuike with a 173 pound guy guarding him on the block? He would be like a hot knife cutting thru butter.

I’m not sure Kuath is the answer.... just my opinion.
