This time it's official. Just had his presser.

Myles turner to KU. Shortly... Sorry fexas

Ku hires Turners dad in 3, 2,1...

Turner's most recent visit was to Duke.

Are they not considered a legitimate option?

Also, is dad hiring a legitimate concern with him? 'Cause Mizzou has an opening on our staff...

Yet another kid that's going to have to learn to play in the NBA.

Bus driver?

You can't pull the Manning/Chalmers special anymore.

If you hire a relative, it has to be for a coaching position.

I just dont see how there is any difference between doing that and just paying a kid money to go to your school.

Assuming his dad is actually qualified for the job and the salary is comparable to other assistants, I see nothing wrong with it.

If he has no meaningful playing or coaching experience, that's a whole different scenario (but then you're giving one of four total coaching positions to a guy who contributes nothing).

I would've been absolutely fine had Mizzou hired Melvin Booker to help land his son, and I'd be perfectly fine hiring Justin Tatum to land Jayson in 2016 (top 5 kid, from St. Louis; dad played at SLU, in Europe and has won a couple state titles as a HS coach). Those are basketball guys who can contribute something (plus Melvin is a Mizzou icon). I would have even been OK with ku hiring Ronnie Chalmers had it been for a real job on the staff and not director of operations (a real job title but no clear responsibilities; easy to give him that job and have others do the work for him).

Probably a good decision for him, but may not. There are suppose to be considerably more C types in the draft next year. Really this year, there is only Embiid, and maybe the kid from IU. I don't have all the names for next year, but I ready something today suggesting WCS would be lucky to be the 6-7th best center available next year.

Looks like Isaiah Austin is gone too.
