Watching the game and looking at the comments post-game, it seems clear that no one has emerged as the leader of this team. Look at KayKay's remarks. As a senior she should take a leadership role but she is waiting for someone else to take over and there isnt anyone who commands that role ---yet. I'm a bit disappointed in Maddie who I think could be very good at that and, if so, needs to speak up and take it. Gabby is in the natural position to do so but is mysteriously absent both in the leadership role and on the floor.

What gives? Who will take over that responsibility? Cumon girls! Grasp the nettle!!

I have seen people who had to be told to take the reins. They are afraid to offend someone if they climb over them as the leader. I think I see a little of that in Gabbi and Maddie, especially Maddie. Sometimes, it is difficult to take the role from a senior or an established junior (Peyton). Maddie only did it when instructed by Sherri. She even has to be told to shoot more.

I think it has to be Maddie or Gabbi. You really want your leader to be the one who controls play, directs the offense and defense. I think Kay Kay is going to be on the bench too much, and she isn't making the play. Let's see what develops.

Maddie is doing OK, but seems a little hesitant to step forward. Gabbi is over-reaching right now.

Why not Peyton? She's experienced and by far our most consistent player. Leads by example. I think she's more than capable of taking the reins.

Most coaches seem to prefer someone that is going to handle the ball a lot. I think Peyton has the spirit, if not the outgoing style. But, she is not the one through whom the ball is going. That's going to be, most likely, a point or someone like a point.
