LeBron on if Trae Young should go pro

Funny..... LeBron thinks it’s a foregone conclusion for Trae to turn pro. I agree.

Agreed. Not long ago, I thought there might be a chance he would stay another year. I don’t feel that way now. When I think about the way this team has played lately, I can’t help but ask myself, “what would he have to look forward to?”

i honestly think he needs another year. To get stronger, but I understand that can happen a lot quicker in the NBA.

What does anyone expect Lebron to say? Lebron didn't go to college

I agree he needs to get stronger, but also agree with you that NBA teams have S&C staffs that can get him stronger, too. If he goes to the NBA here are some advantages:
- team can bring him along slowly. Pace him. They’re in it for the long haul
- won’t get double and triple-teamed every time he touches the ball
- probably won’t have to work as hard getting the ball up court in half court sets
- won’t have to carry the offense. Probably not the primary scorer
- gets more rest during games. May not even start. Part of backup rotation

There are probably more but these were just off the top of my head

Me too. But I honestly don’t see any reason for him to stay. He’s in the top ten of every mock draft I have seen. The minutes he’s playing and the punishment he has to endure now are beginning to wear him down, not to mention the frustration of knowing some of his teammates have all but mailed it in this season. No way I would stay if I was in his shoes!

All great points! I have nothing to add except it’s likely Trae will be a very wealthy young man in the not too distant future. Good for him!

He definitely needs to get stronger but that doesn't mean he should turn down the opportunity to be drafted in the top 6 or 7. Getting stronger in 1 more year at OU won't advance his draft stock that much. It's not like he's a borderline 1st round pick.
