Letter from Coach Lon Kruger (April 11, 2016)

Dear Sooner Fans,

We have had quite a ride. There are so many people that we need to thank. This group of players needs to be thanked for their effort and commitment that allowed us all to enjoy a remarkable season. Their contributions to our memories will not soon be forgotten and will have a lasting impact on the future of this program.

Our players and staff would like to thank ALL the fans that supported us. Not only those that were there during the run through the NCAA tournament concluding with a huge group in Houston, but those that were there in the beginning and stuck with us all the way to the end.

And the students, who set a new standard for future Boom Squad members, were just outstanding. The atmosphere at our games created a home court advantage that was second to none and is the beginning of a great tradition!

With a great deal of emotion, we will say goodbye to a senior class that has changed OU basketball and stirred up the great tradition that we have always known existed. We will look upon them with great pride and know they gave everything to make Sooner Basketball the best it can be.

And finally a special thanks to the fans… you ALL were fantastic!

Thanks for sharing that, Traveler. That letter makes one even more thankful for Coach Kruger. I'll be grateful for every year we get with him, but geez, I wish we'd gotten him sooner. I could easily get behind a twenty-year run with this coach.

Me too, Sky! A long term relationship with Coach Kruger would have been nice. But like you, I'll take what we can get and be happy. He's a class act in every way!
