Lindy Walters

Waters is not a priority for OU now that they have McGusty. A big man and a pg are
their priorities now with OU only taking a premier point guard. Otherwise they will
pass and wait for 2017. Nothing against Waters but we now have Odomes, James and
McGusty on the wings

Walters isn't going to OU, there is no room for him (right now).

Harvard is the no-brainer, might be the "hottest" team of the others right now.

Coach, do you know if Waters is a priority for OU?

He's top 150 in the country. They do have McGusty in the bag so if we miss they are ok with that. But Staff knows he's a kid in their hometown and a good player. I'd take him and RS.

PG and Big are main focus. Schnider Heard is back in the mix I think. Bolden as we talked about.

Waters won't play in his home town but will travel north to a in-state school, Young and Porter will play together in college

Concur but know they will take him if he wants to come.

No room? Explain that... Plenty of room for him.

I could OSU being picked as well.

I hope young and porter are at OU. :dance005::chestram2:

Harvard also has no athletic scholarships

Unless you're rich, they offer grants that will cover total cost of attendance (same as a full scholarship at other schools). It's how Amaker has gotten the program competitive.

Judging by the programs outside OU/OSU, Walters is likely to be the BMOC, or at least has a very good shot. That would not be the case at OU, hence, my guess why he doesn't end up in Norman.

That is correct and it is common misconception that kids get athletic scholarships to the Ivy League. However, it is my understanding the entire Ivy League will make it possible for anyone to attend that gets admitted. As I understand it, they believe if you have the ability to get accepted the financial resources of your parents should not be a determining factor on whether or not you can attend with the caveat that they expect families that can afford all or part of the expense to pay all or part of the expense. Therefore, I think if he gets accepted they will find money for him to attend.

If my understanding is correct and he can get admitted, he should seriously think about attending. I didn't fully grasp what a meal ticket an Ivy League education was when I was 18. I knew it was a big deal but I don't think I really understood that it opens doors that are unlikely to open otherwise, especially when you are 22 or 23 looking for your first job.

not the entire ivy league but Harvard and yale recently did away with student loans ..

instead if a student qualifies for any need based loans the schools just give the money as a grant ...

you are correct that it is need based and they expect students to pay what their families are able to pay .... ..

that is a massive difference from being at a P5 school where you now get a full ride and full cost of admission money every semester ..

I also agree with you that an IVY name on your diploma goes a long long way

Schnider Herard is a 6'10" 240 lb center from Prestonwood Christian in Dallas who won their 4th straight state championship last spring. He's originally from Haiti and came to the US after the earthquake 5 years ago. He's a big, strong kid. Prestonwood is the same school Julius Randle attended, and last year had another 6'11" kid from Haiti who signed with Vanderbilt: Djery Baptiste.

Crystal Ball says Herard is 75% likely to go to KU.

Yep.

OU hasn't offered Porter. Duke, Kansas, UNC and watch for a Kentucky offer soon.

Whose top 10 list didn't OU make? We're talking about a lot of players in this thread. Must be Herard.
