Lindy Walters

I've seen him play quite a bit. Not overly quick, but certainly not slow for his size. But he jumps pretty well and is a really good shooter. Not quite a Clay Thompson-good shooter, but has a very good stroke. Really smart player that gets over-shadowed on his HS team by the young kid. I'd say he should be the one on that team taking the most shots, by percentage I'd bet he's the best shooter, but that's prolly not gonna happen any time soon. Seems like a good kid with a good head on his shoulders also. Would be a solid 4-year player IMO.

I don't know this Waters kid, and I don't know you, but this post is chicken****. I suppose I shouldn't take seriously someone with such a ridiculous username.

You seemed to have earned some credibility through your recruiting "info" but we could use a whole lot less of garbage posts like these on this site. Frankly, I'm surprised it's lasted up here this long.

Agreed.

First off for someone to call him names means you are an idiot. I have watched/covered Lindy for the past 2 years. He is a fantastic rebounder for his size. He can leap out of the gym. Norman North used him quite a bit down on the post due to the lack of size they have on their team. It doesn't shock me that his recruiting has taken off, he is a streaky shooter, but when he is on he looks great. Like I mentioned he can elevate so he can get his own shot pretty easy, and can be a factor defensively by blocking shots. Did I see him getting an OU offer probably not, but him getting one doesn't shock me and he will just continue to get better. The person that called him trash should just get off this board.

Okay it's gone! Didn't know how sensitive you guys would be. Call the pc police.

Yes, I remember the good old days when one could call a high-school kid "----" if you didn't especially like his game, and no one would blink an eye. Who cared if someone from his family might see the post or even the young man himself?

Damn you, political correctness!

It's just basic politeness. Nothing PC at all. Lot of other ways to say that you do not think he is appropriate for OU.

Not sure everyone knows what "PC" means. If you are in class, raise your hand and then tell the teacher to Go F Themselves and they kick you out of class... They weren't punishing you in the name of political correctness. You were punished for being an impolite and offensive jackass.

Am I the only one that really wants him to commit? A 6'6" guard would be amazing, and he's a hometown kid. HAs a high ceiling!

Sounds good to me. But I'd be a terrible D1 coach, for any number of reasons, not the least of which is that I'd be offering guys left and right. I'd never have the resolve to hold off the way Kruger did with Waters, according to that story.

I do as well. He really seemed upset that OU waited so long, (McGusty) as well...

LK and staff usually offer early, I really understand the logic by waiting to make sure they mature as a player etc...

I think we have a great shot. As mentioned before, Dad is an employee and respected at OU.

Interesting list. OU, OSU, and Butler play the best basketball competition but have a lot of good players that want playing time. Mercer and SFA are mid-majors at best. Harvard has the best academics. Kelvin is a good, hard-nosed coach at U of H. Creighton is OK if you want to live in Nebraska. Butler lost their good coach to the Celtics, but still play good basketball in a good conference.

I guess it depends on what he is looking for.

Coach, do you know if Waters is a priority for OU?

An interesting list indeed, one that pretty much runs the gamut of mid-majors, high majors and even schools known more for academics. Two have former OU coaches; Sampson at Houston and Bob Hoffman at Mercer.

Anyone know Walters well enough to explain the Duke's mixture of schools he's interested in? Is he an OU recruit with a legit offer?
